Come on lads. On the Theiry Henry issue, he is the best striker there is, when he gets the ball he is calm, cool and knows exactly what he is doing and from any point he can delive a killer pass or shot or even burst out into a lightning paced run dodging any defender in his way.
Maybe if you actually watch the lad play rather than pull up an internet page and look at his results you may know a bit more.

As for these 'big teams' that he doesn't score as many on...do you think the managers are just going to treat him like he's Gary Doherty playing up front? No! They want him stopped by all means and when you are being focused on by the likes of Rio Ferdinand and John Terry who have likley been told to not worry about anyone else but Henry then of course he is gonna have a hard time yet he still nets them against the big guns.

For the Stevie G VS Frank Lampard issue...Gerrard has constantly delivered balls that sets attackers with golden opputunities that swing EXACTLY where they can run on to away swerving away from the keeper right in front of goal. I remember the first time (I think) Luis Garcia got a taste of one of those passes and he just couldn't belive the service (somehow he headered it wide).
Steven Gerrard gets more stuck in, he drives his team forward, not afraid to get his kit a bit grubby either!

Lampard is world class whom I would also rate higher than Roy Keane and Patrick Vieria although he gets to score more as he is an attacking midfeilder whilst Makalele is focusing on the defensive issues where as Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard share the load and only come forward when nessasary.

Could go on more, however, I am extremley tired...good night.

me and my mate from college were talking about how if gerrard went to chelski, he and lampard could just attack and attack while makalele sits like he does. would be awesome but i wouldn't like to see it happen.

Perish the thought a Mourinho managed team mite attack!

Hargreaves was right, Chelski are a long ball team.

All you do is launch long balls, and then power your midfielders forward to get onto knock downs from Drogba.

that is one angle, but half our problem vs you was that

1. we had no wingers
2. we had a couple of lovely passing moves that ended in a brick wall
3. we couldnt go long succesfully because you had 3 defenders on dd

we arent a long ball team, but we do use dd as a weapon like that.

you're a long ball team, although some of the great goals have came from one and two-touch football along the ground.

or not.....thats total glib ****e intepreted from the desperation we were forced into against you.

if you say we are a "long ball" team i suggest you watch some millwall or mk dons footie and then watch a couple of our games.

we use the long ball as an option...winning is more important than style.......ask your manager that...he played a 9 man defence against us in all of our games except anfield in the league.

Nonsense, we had Carra on DD, Hyypia was free, Djimi took Cole and Finnan had Eidur.

At SB in both games, and Anfield in both games this season, you've started by launching longballs, when that failed you tried passing thru us and when that failed you went back to the long ball.

Cardiff was the same.

indeed...not a long ball team though, we play to win and try to find a style to do so.

we didnt have width against you thats why your defenders had it easy.

remember we have only had dd for 18 games this season. wihout him we dont play long ball.
