Ronaldinho
Shevchenko
Totti
Cassano
Adriano
van Nistelrooy
Eto'o
Julio Baptista
All better players than Henry in my opinion, and thats just off the top of my head.

An in-form Ruud van Nistelrooy is the worlds BEST striker.

Maybe as over all players they are better than him in, skills, pace, creativity and versitility but when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net, Ruud is the master.
He is the best STRIKER in the world, not the best player tho.
For me, Ronaldinho gets that title.

But henry has outscored ruud in the past three seasons, so he may be better at putting the ball in the net, but he doesnt. Also as this debate has gone on forever in other posts, ruud needs the chances created or else he wont score, and in form henry can tear apart any defence.

Henry has not outscored Ruud in the past three. When Manchester United last won the league, Ruud scored 43 goals in all competitions, showing how good he is as a striker.
Henry is a great player, and can terrorise defenses, but he is not a natural finisher, not a striker really.
I wouldnt brand Henry with a set role (striker, etc) as he is an enigma, he is just an attacker, strikers are generally not effective on the left wing where as Henry spends most time out there, and is brillaint there as he can cut in, etc.
Henry on form is a better player than Ruud on form, but Ruud is still the better out-and-out striker.

I meant in the league where it is even territory, he has outscored him. Even if henry does drift, surely that makes him a better striker tho, as he has that element to his game as well. Ruud is the better finisher inside the area, but i would still prefer it if i had a striker that could score from elsewhere. I understand about him not having a set role, but he does his job and more as a centre forward, whereas ruud's game is limited, and i think the term striker is more developed than just finishing and therefore stiill say henry is a better striker, just not as good a finisher as ruud.
Anyway, i'll stop now coz its a bit off topic.

well, consider Ruud has been injured for most of the last two seasons that isnt a suprise.
just think without Ruud, Holland failed to reach the 2002 world cup (he only played the last game after 18 months injured)
he comes back and they reach the semi final at Euro 2004 and he scores 4 goals along the way.
Henry well, he fails to score or create anything for France at 2002 and scoring 2 goals againts a Switzerland team already out of the tournament ... which is full of Bundesliga 2 players dont impress me.
he did jack in the other games apart from miss sitters.
he can carry on about how he won the world cup even though he didnt play in the final ::leedswac

sheva is the best striker followed by adriano then rvn at his best.
henry isn't really a straight up striker and therefore can't really be put in that list.
i agree, ronaldinho is the best player in the world.

Shevchenko and Ruud are close, but Ruud is the best finisher on the planet, thereofre I choose him for the title of "Worlds Best Striker", Adriano is 3rd best.

all i will say is i have never seen rvn score from 30 yards out or from an imposible angle on the edge of the 18 yard line, or a goal from 20 yards out that banana bent like carlos.

Well I did, not my fault if your dont have an extensive footballing knowledge.
Look at his PSV Eindhoven goals, goals from the half way line, enough said.
