i have seen another game too but i cant remember who against.... might have been another european game.. cant remember...

If you saw Alonso in another European game it was the Monaco game where he was the best player on the pitch.

Garcia was poor against Bolton and Graz, the whole team was.

He had a decent game yesterday, lack of help in the centre of midfield made it tough for him.

His freekicks were poor though.

he did nothing for me to make me think he was anything other than a average prem player. garcia was shit too yesterday...

maybe im being too harsh. he is young and in a different country. but when you are building him up to be some kind of superstar saviour, then it makes people, including myself, look for this supposed amazing ability and then be dissapointed, when we dont see it and possibly under-rate his actual ability rather than just lookin at and appreciating his potential....

maybe when/if he fulfils this potential that you see, then maybe i will see his talent, as you do....

but for now, il take what you are saying with a pinch of salt and put it down to player loyalty.....

It's very convenient that you managed to miss the games against West Brom, Monaco, Manure and Norwich.

i saw him play against manyoo.. although i wasnt paying that much attention as me and my liverpool supporting mate were too busy taking the mick out of "long ball alonso", as hes called him..... but again, from what i saw, he was poor. but im not judging him on that perfromance as like i said, i wasnt paying too much attention.....

and again, as iv said, i can only judge him on what iv seen. and from what i have seen, he hasnt lived up to his billing....

thats my opinion. you have yours. maybe mine will change with time. maybe yours will... time will tell....

He was man of the match in the Manure game.

You decide to judge him on a few games, and ignore the majority of his games.

Your mate is a sap and he hasn't a clue.

Alonso is a brilliant player, simple as.

thats YOUR opinion....

im judging him on what i have seen. wouldnt exactly be fair to judge him on games i havent seen, would it.... it just so happens that games i have seen with him playing in, hes been poor in those games i have seen.... especially when im trying to find this "brilliant player" you keep raving on about...

maybe if you didnt build him up to be this superstar saviour, then people might judge him on just what he is. a foreign player with potential, trying to adjust to the pace and power of the english game.....

now thats MY opinion.....

and my mate might be a sap. but hes a sap that rates players how he sees them. not how he would like to see them.....

Well then he has never watched Xabi play. Anyone who's seen the lad play on a regular basis will tell you, there's few better in Europe.

a word of advice to ralfwiggum, next time you catch one of our matches, watch out for xabi more closely, and your opinion will definitely change.

He hasnt played to his full potential yet, but i think it will take a period of time - its always going to take time to adapt to a new country. He will probably reach his full potential when he gets more chances to play with gerrard. 2 of them, their styles blend very well...

Alonso is top class material. He's covered amazingly while stevi's been out. I do rate Gerrard higher, also Viera, but not Garcia. Garcia has just took well to the fans and is loving being loved by them. Xabi's popularity hasn't proven as much as his performances. They still love him, though.

btw - I <3 Rule's sig.
