BIG-MATCH FACTS
LEEDS UNITED and Everton engage at Elland Road, with the Merseysiders aiming for a fourth successive Premiership victory over their trans-Pennines opponents.
But Eddie Gray's side are staging a revival as the season enters its most crucial phase. They've won three of four including the last two - both six pointers (3-2 home to Leicester, and 1-2 at Blackburn). The west Yorkshire club are chasing a fifth home game without defeat, having taken 10 points from the last 12 at Elland Road (three wins, one draw), and have not lost in front of their home fans since the 0-3 reverse to Middlesbrough on 31 January. United are also looking to string together three Premier League victories on the bounce for the first time since between Boxing Day 2002 and New Years Day 2003.
Leeds crashed to their first home League defeat by Everton since 1951, when they went down to a late winner from substitute Wayne Rooney in last season's corresponding fixture.
EVERTON were not completely safe from relegation trouble when they took on Spurs at Goodison Park on Good Friday, but a 3-1 win should mean their stay in the top tier of English football extends into a 51st consecutive season and 101st in their club history.
David Moyes, who sends out a side for the 80th time in the Premier League, has seen the Toffees lose just once in the last seven games. But they've not won in seven attempts on their League travels (three draws, four defeats). The 1-2 victory at Portsmouth on 13 December is their only maximum on the road in this Premiership campaign.
Everton have scored seven goals without reply in winning the last three against Leeds - indeed they've not conceded in four matches with the Elland Road club. Steve Watson led the rout in the reverse fixture in September with a hat trick in the 4-0 success. That sets up the possibility of a second successive 'double' over Leeds and fifth over them since first meeting for League competition in 1924.
