The fightback started immediately from United and within four minutes they levelled thanks to a superb goal from Lennon.

The 16-year-old midfielder was showing the form that earned him a handful of first team outings earlier this season, and his 45 yards solo run that beat three Liverpool defenders before firing in a low drive past Luzi was one of the goals of the season.

Then with four minutes to go to half-time, Lennon was involved again as Simon Johnson was given the chance to put United ahead.

Lennon once again had the beating of the visitors backline, and when a clumsy challenge from Zak Whitbread brought another mazy break into the box to a halt, the referee had no choice but to award the penalty

Time to get him in. I went to the match and he was amazing. Pennant is in need of a rest so this is a perfect oppurtunity to get him in

How did I just know that were coming?!

Well I'm all out of reasons/excuses why we're not playing him. Tis officially a mystery.

The Liverpool site said, "Liverpool were run ragged by Lennon and quite simply they couldn't live with him".

There's a massive gulf in class between the reserves and first team, even if we are talking about Leeds.

But Gray has nothing to lose, so why not? I'd like to see what the fuss is all about... after the *minutes* i've seen him play for the Leeds first team in the past, he didn't have enough time to do an awful lot.

Well that's what people always say but it's not true in the sense that it can be much harder for a "class" say, creative winger type player to shine in the reserves rather than the Premiership.

Having watched a fair number of reserve games over the years, you don't see his sort of performances - it just doesn't happen, and I don't care who it is or how old they are.

I remember seeing Cantona in the reserves and he couldn't get anywhere at all. If I hadn't known better I wouldn't have thought in a million years that he could ever earn a living from kicking a football.

As it turned out he did quite well.

Perhaps, lack of atmosphere giving it that type of 'sunday league game' atmosphere... hearing every smart arse remark everyone comes out with.

Vuoso is highly rated in Mexico and was in Argentina (to my knowledge) and he is currently on the form of his life in Mexico. Everytime I saw him in the reserves, he looked completely out of it, perhaps because he didn't want to be their (maybe like your example of Cantona) or because it was a different game, more psyhical etc.

Then again, Lennon must be good if some Leeds fans are pinning major hopes upon his (not fully grown) shoulders

I'm glad Pennant stayed on as it was his best performance in ages

If he played like that WIWO, Smith and the Duke would be banging the goals in. The question is, is he going to pull out that kind of performance for the next 7 games??
