Former Spurs and Chelsea keeper Sullivan spent much of last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers and is being linked with a permanent move to the South Yorkshire side.
Crainey, who joined the Elland Road club in August 2004 from Southampton, made 62 appearances, while Sa, who was signed by boss Dennis Wise during the January transfer window, are also free to find new clubs.
Hird, who has failed to make a senior appearance for United, moved to Doncaster on loan for the latter half of the campaign.
