Kishishev Leeds loan extended
Quote:
Charlton have agreed to extend Radostin Kishishev's loan spell at Leeds until the end of the season.
The Bulgaria international, who joined Leeds on 3rd March for an initial month, has been instrumental in helping the club to a four-match unbeaten run.
Friday's late win over Preston has given Dennis Wise's side fresh confidence they can win their survival fight and Kishishev now has the opportunity to see the job through.
Charlton, in a relegation battle of their own, have, though, insisted on a 24-hour recall option in the player's amended loan contract.
The Whites are also hoping to come to a similar agreement with Bolton for their Slovakian defender Lubomir Michalik.
Meanwhile, the club have moved to clear up confusion over how many loan players are permitted in their squad.
Fans were concerned Leeds could face disciplinary action after fielding more than five loan players for Friday's win over Preston.
But a club statement read: "Players who join from foreign clubs join on short-term contracts and as such are not "on loan" due to the registration process that has to be adopted for players coming from outside England.
"As it stands the club currently has five players on loan from English clubs: Radostin Kishishev, Lubo Michalik, Jemal Johnson, Micky Gray, and Graham Stack.
"Casper Ankergren, who joined from Danish outfit Brondby, and Alan Thompson, who arrived from Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic, are classed as short-term contract signings, in keeping with the above. Armando Sa, Tore Andre Flo, and Robbie Elliott are all on short-term contracts."
