Default Wise signs Matt Heath

Quote:
Leeds United boss Dennis Wise has signed Coventry City defender Matt Heath on loan.

The former Leicester City trainee will remain at Elland Road until January 1 and follows Reading goalkeeper Graham Stack in making the switch to the Championship strugglers.

The former Millwall and Swindon manager had stated he wanted to freshen up his new squad, and Wise has wasted little time in boosting his defensive ranks with Heath, having played with the 25-year-old when he was at Coventry last season.

The Whites have conceded 15 goals in their last five games, but Heath is delighted to have the chance to play for the West Yorkshire club.

"This is a great opportunity for me," Heath told Leeds United's official website.

"I was told I could find somewhere on loan and things have happened really quickly.

"This is a great club with a great set-up. Thorp Arch (training ground) is out of this world.

"I know that we're scrapping for the points at the moment, but I'm looking forward to the challenge and can't wait to get started."

Heath is expected to be in the Leeds squad for Saturday's home clash with Colchester United.
