Andy Ritchie's team could leapfrog Leeds should they win.

Bobby Hassell is expected to miss the derby clash through injury - the defender gave The Tykes a first-half lead before they went down 2-1 at Derby in midweek, but was forced off at the interval with a groin injury, with Neil Austin set to start in his place.

Jonathan Douglas is expected to return to the visitors' side after missing the midweek defeat at Preston through suspension - he could be a straight swap for Ian Westlake.

Frazer Richardson suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury in midweek and will again be unavailable to new boss Dennis Wise.

Wise must decide whether to stick with on-loan Reading goalkeeper Graham Stack for a third successive game or recall either Neil Sullivan or Tony Warner, while Geoff Horsfield is pushing for a start.
