Sevilla Boss Vargas is cautious but ready to face against Fiorentina Boss Jager
After knocking out Barcelona in a 4-0 aggregate, Sevilla move on to the semi-finals to meet Fiorentina. Coach Vargas has shown how serious he is going to take those two legs; taking into consideration his poor record against Fiorentina under Coach Jager.
Out of 6 games played between each other; Sevilla has 1 victory, 1 draw and 4 defeats. The only victory takes back to Coach Vargas's first season in charge of Sevilla, in The Cup's Quater-Finals; where after a 3-0 1st leg defeat away, Sevilla pulled off an unexpected upset by winning 4-0 the 2nd leg home, knocking out Fiorentina 4-3 aggregate. This lead to the first Cup win for Sevilla under Coach Vargas.
After their 2-0 victory over Barcelona in Camp Nou, he gave a few words.
"It is my understanding that Sevilla will face Fiorentina" said Vargas to As.com, after being informed that Fiorentina drew 2-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid, knocking them with a 5-3 aggregate. "I've crossed many times with Jager and he's a great manager. He's not the current League B Champion for nothing. I know that many times he has been able to out play me but I have a soft spot for The Cup and will not take nothing for granted. It will not be easy but i'm willing to give it my best shot to overcome this obstacle and make it to The Cup final for a 3rd year in a row, and hopefully claim it once more."
