Palermo have been absolutely nothing when Corini doesn't play. No creativity in the midfield. He needs to sign! Tedesco as well. Can't break up that club too much. Amauri will be back next season and they should be good enough for a Uefa spot!

Corini is effectively a scaled down version of Pirlo, just 10 years older.
He's a class player, if he was younger he'd be in contention for a play in the NT squad.

A Palermo fan has drawn up a petition in a bid to see Eugenio Corini and Giovanni Tedesco handed new contracts.
The veteran midfielders have just a matter of months left on their present Rosanero deals which has left certain question marks over their Sicilian futures.
“This initiative has been set up to extinguish the threat of not seeing the professionalism and morale character of these two great players in next season’s Serie A,” said Gaspare Anitra, the man behind the move.
“That is why we are asking President Maurizio Zamparini, sporting director Rino Foschi and Palermo Football Club to renew the contracts of Corini and Tedesco.
“We must be proud of everything that they have given this club and city, on and off the pitch, in these years.”
Corini and Tedesco have become major fan favourites at the Stadio Barbera over recent seasons.
Tedesco, 34, was born in Palermo and joined the outfit in January 2006 after excelling at Genoa and Perugia.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old club captain Corini joined in 2003 and led the outfit to Serie A promotion in his first season.

Eugenio Corini leaves Palermo
Sad day. This guy was a creative genius for Palermo and when he didn't play, they certainly couldn't fill the void.
Quote:
Eugenio Corini was in tears during today’s Press conference as he left Palermo. “I wanted to be a part of the club, but they did not want me.”
It was a bitter farewell for the former club captain, who has been a key figure in their climb up from Serie B to qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
His contract is up this summer and the 36-year-old has not seen it renewed by the Rosanero, so he is now a free agent.
“I don’t want my name to be used to cover something up,” said the midfielder.
“I thought I was a focus point for the club and hoped they would offer me more than just a simple contract renewal for a player, but unfortunately I was not given that chance.
“I was hoping to create a sense of belonging here, but instead they showed that they were not counting on me at all. I would have liked to be important for this side.”
Corini had been tipped for a future behind the scenes as a director or future Coach at Palermo, but instead walks away in the worst of circumstances.
“I wanted to become a part of this club, playing for the next season and then taking on a directorial role. I imagined my final game in Palermo as a festival with the Stadio Barbera fans who in these four years have been so close to me.
“I really felt the desire to continue building something important with this side, but unfortunately that is not the case.”
Despite injury problems and disagreements with Coach Francesco Guidolin, Corini still notched up 10 goals in 27 games this season – the most prolific top flight campaign of his career.
The former Chievo hero is likely to settle into a new club quickly with Napoli leading the race, although Parma and Torino are also interested.
Meanwhile, Palermo have officially signed Atalanta midfielder Giulio Migliaccio in exchange for their half of Adriano Pereira Da Silva’s contract. He reunites with former Orobici boss Stefano Colantuono in Sicily.
The Rosanero have also picked up Anderlecht teenager Samir Ujkani. Both players have penned five-year deals.

As I've always he said, he's a poor man's Pirlo.
Palermo will miss him.

Andrea Barzagli is ready to storm out of Palermo after the club refused to renew Eugenio Corini’s contract. “It’s their worst mistake yet.”
The former Rosanero captain held an emotional Press conference on Friday in which he burst into tears as he explained the circumstances around his departure from the Stadio Barbera.
Now his teammates – in particular Juventus, Fiorentina and Milan transfer target Barzagli – have leapt to his defence.
“This is totally absurd. I cannot imagine Palermo without Corini,” said the World Cup winning defender.
“I am upset and knowing how much he cares about this side I can understand how bad he must be feeling right now.
“If Corini waved goodbye, it means they did not treat him well. This is the biggest mistake of Maurizio Zamparini’s reign.”
The split with Barzagli is bad news for the Sicilians, as he is already close to a move elsewhere and this could well be the final straw.
More details are slowly emerging over what happened to cause such a sudden and stressful break between Corini and his club.
“In the five days after the final game against Udinese, I did not contact any other clubs – they called me,” explained Corini.
“I waited to resolve a family issue, as my children live in Verona and I would have liked to play somewhere closer to them.
“I asked them to wait until Wednesday, when I would meet with the Parma officials, and on Thursday I told director of sport Rino Foschi I had decided to remain at Palermo. From then on I heard nothing from the side except through the newspapers.”
This is not how the Rosanero paint the picture, as Vice-President Guglielmo Miccichè said it was Corini who showed a lack of loyalty.
“We knew he had sought out other avenues. All he had to do was sign on the dotted line when he received the contract renewal proposal and he would have ended his career at Palermo.
“We cannot fault our behaviour in this matter. Instead of calling a Press conference, why didn’t Corini meet with Zamparini personally? He did not show his love for this shirt, unlike Giovanni Tedesco, who signed without hesitation.”

To me it sounds like the club have handled this poorly, typical Zamparini.

I wouldn't call myself a Palermo fan, but I'm going to look for this petition and sign it-- I've "been there" and I know what the Palermo fans are going through.

Don't bother, Tedesco has already re-signed and Corini has left.

But (speaking of Corini here) Palermo has a habit of firing and re-hiring people. Yeah, there's a 95% chance it's too late, but what the hell.

Eugenio Corini faces a new challenge and the 37-year-old is certain his Torino can trouble the big boys.
He was thrown out of Palermo after hesitating over a new contract and was almost immediately picked up by Walter Novellino’s side.
“I am certain that Torino can trouble the major clubs this season,” said the veteran midfielder who turns 37 at the end of this month.
“It will be important to face every game with humility and determination. Considering the history and prestige of Toro, we players have to give our best, so I hope we can end our campaign in the top half of the table.”
Corini certainly has experience of taking unfancied sides to incredible heights, as he took both Chievo and Palermo from Serie B to the UEFA Cup.
“I chose Toro because I saw a great united vision between President Urbano Cairo and Coach Novellino. They believed in me from the start and made me feel like an important part of this project.
“I am very grateful to them for that and will do everything I can to repay that faith on the field.”
Corini started his career at Brescia before making his Serie A debut with Juventus in 1990. He has also played for Sampdoria, Napoli, Piacenza, Verona, Chievo and Palermo.
