Almiron - Joins Fiorentina on loan

Almiron could also be joining the Grifoni soon as Juventus are willing to cash-in on the Argentine.

The former Empoli player was one of this season's major flops and although he has had a decent loan spell at Monaco, his future is far from the Olimpico.

The Bianconeri are thought to be looking for a figure somewhere between £6m and £8m.

“Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has always been a fan on my client,” agent Claudio Vagheggi told Violanews.com.

“At first there were difficulties in defining the formula of the transfer but now there are talks with Juventus along the lines of a loan with the option to make the deal permanent.

“It could be a while before any deal is done because Juve aren’t in an hurry to send Almiron to Florence and the Viola don’t want to rush any further big investment.

“However, there is a distinct possibility that Almiron will join Fiorentina this summer,” he concluded.

Fiorentina have officially announced the arrival of Juventus midfielder Sergio Almiron on a season loan.

The Argentine midfielder hasn’t managed to assert himself in Turin since arriving from Empoli last summer.

And the 27-year-old will now hope to regain his confidence at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“Fiorentina would like to announce that they have signed Almiron from Juventus on a temporary basis with the option for a co-ownership agreement at the end of the contract,” a statement on the Viola’s website reads.

Almiron will be officially presented as a Fiorentina player at 3.30pm this afternoon in the Gigliati’s pre-season camp in Sieve.

Last season’s fourth-placed side have now made nine signings this summer.

Couldn't settle in at Juve as fast as Ranieri wanted. He was a good player at Empoli but couldn't find that form at Juve. Granted he wasn't given that many chances, but that's to be expected at a big club.
