He is not, and I'm not even disputing that Juve should favour him or use him for that matter. What I'm saying is that he wil not tolerate the bench for long. I see him leaving the club soon, as Capello is not going any where.

That defender, azzurri...we probably won't see for a few seasons, he's young and inexperienced after all.

Whatever happens you Juventini should always keep Del Piero in heart. Del Piero plays with his heart on his captain sleeve, and he bleeds the bianconero. And I agree with slow but I do not agree what so ever, with useless. He was Juve's best player during the last 15 games last season. And his creativeness was of great help to Juve's return to the Scudetto.

Agree with everything you said, Velocci. I grew up with Del Piero, before his knee injury - I was an Alex superfan; understand that when he broke into the first side, was just about the time I began to watch Italian football regularly. There is love for Pinturicchio, but these days it's tough love. When his alternatives are better, you put the club before the great man.

Truly. After the injury, he wasn't the same Del Piero any more..anyone who thinks he's the same player, is stupid and/or in denial. He has quality still, but not the genius that made him who he was. All you have to do is look at his set-pieces..there was a time when a freekick from the edge of the area and him stood over the ball meant real danger, now it's a warmup for the ball boys.
Ibrahimovic is a better set up man than him and Trezeguet is a better finisher..he has to now play second-string or move on, change in the management setup and age catching up to him has done the damage.
He's still a legend though, no doubt about it..I'm glad I'm not the one looking him in the eye telling him his days at Juventus are over...because deep down, I don't want them to be. Nasty situation and it wil inevitably end in tears.

I wish, hanuma..but his replacement will step up soon, be it the Romanian or the Italian with bad skin; we will see before Wednesday. Many would argue Ibra is that man, but Zlatan is in a league of his own. An entirely new legend. ::nw::

It is Kapello. He always like too much few players (Zebina, Emerson, Cassano) and dislike another(Montella, Del Piero). It is bad side of him.

Del Piero demands respect
Quote:
Alessandro Del Piero has silently accepted 20 substitutions at Juve and a place on the bench in the Italy squad, but Pinturicchio has finally lost patience and hit out.
“I don’t expect to have an automatic place in the side based on what I have done in the past, but I do want more respect and consideration,” he snapped.
Once the Golden Boy of Italian football, the 30-year-old is now reaching a crossroads in his career. The club situation is becoming intolerable, as the captain is now third choice behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet, with further competition from Adrian Mutu.
It is also affecting his international career, as Marcello Lippi recalled him after almost a year to play in the 2-1 friendly victory over the Republic of Ireland, but he’ll probably be benched against Scotland with the return of Francesco Totti.
“It is in my destiny that I must always prove myself again and again,” continued the disillusioned star. “Last year in Moldova was much the same and I’m here in an identical position once more. In any case, it is only right that everyone must earn their place.”
“I do like the new trident attack system that Lippi is adopting and it’s right to focus on the quality we have in Italian football. It’s also possible for me to play alongside Totti with this tactic. We will aim to take control and earn all three points in Scotland to ensure our qualification for the World Cup.”
The real battle is with Juventus and Coach Fabio Capello’s treatment of him – substituting Del Piero 20 times in Serie A alone last season – has spread to the rest of the club.
This week Juve shareholder and FIAT President Luca Cordero di Montezemolo told journalists that Antonio Cassano was the ideal advertising representative for the new Punto because “he’s more cheeky.”
“That just means there will be other cars for me in the future,” said a visibly upset Del Piero when told of this statement.
The summer transfer window may have closed, but many still expect Cassano to join Juventus in January – effectively freezing out Alex altogether.
|
I can see why he would be upset by this.
So the question is where will Alex play next year?

That would work, i'd be more inclined to buy a punto if Cassano was advertising it. (other cars for apd, not fiat but how about Skoda or Volvo?)
Next year, well there'd be uproar if he left juve (esepically if he was forced out) but football fans have a short memory so i'm sure they'd move on. BUT he's clearly getting irritated by it so the signs point to EXIT. Maybe a midtable side? (maybe Roma...)
