Not a chance?? Why? I hear some rumblings already, and I still consider him a premier player. If Juve can discard him, then he can discard Juve, simple as that.

Del Piero should have took off when the market opened.
Now he and Juve are stuck, and ADP must realize that Ibra Trez and Mutu are all better than him.
How can you demand respect when there is no room to give it?

del piero has to be realistic, he cant expect to play as much as he used to. he is a valuable asset to have on a team but he is gonna have to be patient. only been 1 game.

You are totally right, however I don't think he's going to be patient in this case. I think he's going to complain as each week goes by.

which will only complicate the matter even more, especially with the media involved to. in other words he should shut up and be quiet. dont get me wrong, i am a huge del piero fan, but through the yrs i played soccer the 1 thing i noticed was the ppl who complained never played. i guess ADP is following "the squeeky wheel gets the grease" mindframe.

I hope he gets some advice from R.Baggio, and moves on, so he can help other clubs out, and his fans can see him play regularly.

97/98 wasnt his first season.
he was special from 1994.... some great goals.
I reckon he became world class in the 97/98 not only scoring 30 goals but alot of the were important and loads of assists for Inzaghi.
He was injured just before the CL final in 98 and he's never been the same since.

We have only ever seen falshes of him since.
still a top player mind.... but does not hit the hights anymore .

shame, he always was one of my faves.

Del Piero humiliated again?

Quote:
Juventus patron Lapo Elkann has again publicly humiliated Alessandro Del Piero, dubbing the captain “an expensive luxury for the team.”

Elkann, the heir to the Agnelli throne, has already run up column inches in the Italian Press with his comments on Del Piero and Bianconeri target Antonio Cassano, but this latest tirade is possibly his worst yet.

“Del Piero costs too much for what he brings to the table,” Elkann was quoted as saying in ‘Il Giornale’. “He is a luxury that we cannot afford any longer.”

The Italian international earns approximately £3m per season and his contract expires in 2008, but the fact that Fabio Capello has left him on the bench for most of his time in charge suggests that he’ll be parting company with the club sooner rather than later.

Elkann is not the only FIAT owner to make such statements, as last week Luca Cordero di Montezemolo pointed out, “I’d prefer Cassano to Del Piero as a testimonial for the new Punto, as he is more likeable.”

This will only add to reports that Del Piero will leave Juve as early as January, with offers from Japan, Arsenal, Manchester City or even Milan.

Emerson has rushed to the defence of his teammate in today’s Press Conference. “I saw Del Piero training well and he has recovered from his injury. He’s important to all of us.”

Meanwhile, there has been a vote of confidence for Manuele Blasi, who has extended his Juve contract by one year. The midfielder, who played as a right-back in the Champions League this week, is tied to the club until June 30 2009.

Hmm, Japan? I don't think so.

Not really sure where he would end up....
