As I said in the other thread I don't think either is a huge loss. The only issue is that Tudor and Legrottaglie are still unfit so it does leave us a little short on CB's. Birindelli and Balzaretti are fine though, you'll hardly notice that Chiellini isn't there.

Medical Bulletin: 8th January
Early this afternoon, Giorgio Chiellini and Jean Alain Boumsong underwent nuclear magnetic resonance scans (NMR) for the muscular problems sustained during the Trofeo Berlusconi. The scans, carried out at Turin’s CTO hospital by Dr Carlo Faletti, revealed a 1st – 2nd degree strain of the left thigh for Chiellini. It will be 6 weeks before he resumes physical activity. Boumsong sustained a 1st degree strain to the lateral gemellus muscle of the left leg. The prognosis is around 3/4 weeks.
After a check-up this afternoon at the Juventus Center, Raffaele Palladino will begin a phase of rehabilitation lasting a few days for the after-effects of the sprain he suffered on Saturday. It is hoped he will return in time for Saturday’s trip to Mantova or next Tuesday’s home game against Cesena.
It’s good news for Giannichedda and Camoranesi, who should be able to resume training with the rest of the squad this week.
Marco Marchionni will intensify his training sessions this week and should join up with the rest of the group as early as the beginning of next week.
Emanuele Belardi, who underwent surgery on the meniscus in his left knee on the 20th December, will begin running work and preparatory exercises this week with a view to resuming work on the training round next week.
Nicola Legrottaglie continues with his rehabilitation and has already entered the first phases of physical preparation. He is expected to resume activity with the squad at the beginning of February.
Igor Tudor is expected to return to Italy on Sunday after a period of rehabilitation for the injury to his right ankle, operated on last August. His fitness will be assessed on Monday when he resumes physical activity.

Kovac doesn’t make it
Robert Kovac will not travel with the squad to Spezia. The defender has not yet recovered from the injury to his right ankle sustained during the match with Cesena. The ankle is still painful to move and is lightly swollen.
Zalayeta is also unavailable due to a problem with his right adductor muscle.
It’s good news for Boumsong and Chiellini though. Both players have resumed work on the training ground and it’s only a matter of time before they rejoin the rest of the squad.

Kovac undergoes surgery
Late this morning, Robert Kovac underwent surgery on his right ankle at the Borgenhausen hospital, Munich. The operation, carried out by doctors Seebauer and Schiller, removed two large calcifications – which were causing an inflammation in the area - from the anterior part of the right ankle joint.
The prognosis for the player’s return in around eight weeks.

Kovac back in Turin next week
At the end of the week’s second training session, Dr Riccardo Agricola revealed the latest from the treatment table - including the conditions of Kovac, Boumsong, Marchisio and Zebina - to the Juventus Channel cameras.
Zebina should be fine for Saturday’s clash with Crotone, while the other three will have to sit things out
After undergoing surgery on his right ankle in Munich last month, Robert Kovac will return to Turin on Tuesday and should be back to full fitness in around 1/1½ month’s time
Out since the Trofeo Berlusconi in early January, Boumsong will resume training with the squad in a couple of days’ time (perhaps even as early as Wednesday). Medically speaking, he could even feature in the game with Modena.
Still no change for Marchisio, who suffered heavy bruising to his left thigh in last week’s final training session. He will undergo physiotherapy this week,
And finally, Zebina did not train with the rest of the group today having carried out an intense session last week.

Camoranesi injured his thigh against Frosinone and is likely to miss the rest of the season. Paro, Zanetti and Giannichedda are all also carrying knocks.
