Nice words by Nedved. Seems very devoted to Juve. I'm sure he will hang up his boots after this season though. Great run he had...legend.

Imagine if he'd signed for Inter.
Quote:
Jonathan Zebina claims he convinced Pavel Nedved to stick with Juventus and reject a surprise offer from rivals Inter.
Nedved had been on the verge of ending his Turin career after disappointing terms for a new contract and could have joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.
“I told Nedved not to go to Inter, because he wouldn’t have looked right in that shirt,” explained Zebina.
“I had no doubts he would make the best decision, so it was just a talk to clarify the situation. He has been decisive for Juve and will be again.”
Although the Czech midfielder has not mentioned Inter specifically, teammate Zebina has inadvertently confirmed the rumours that Roberto Mancini’s side had approached him.

Pavel Nedved admits he turned down multi-million pound contracts – including from Inter – to stay with Juventus. “My agent hates me!”
As his deal had expired, the Czech hero could comfortably have left on a free transfer this summer, but opted to remain after an increase in wages showed he was not being taken for granted.
“A teammate told me I wouldn’t have looked right with Inter’s Nerazzurri shirt. I didn’t see myself in it, either,” smiled Nedved.
It was revealed that the player who made that comment was defender Jonathan Zebina, who told newspapers of his conversation.
“In any case, I am happy to still be a Juventino. I didn’t want to throw away everything I had built in these years. I have many friends in Turin,” added the 2003 European Player of the Year.
It was touch and go for a while, as Pavel had threatened to retire early rather than accept an insultingly low wage after he had stuck with the team through their demotion to Serie B.
“At a certain point I imagined myself at home with my slippers, but I love football too much to sit back and watch others play,” he told ‘Il Giornale.’
“It’s true there were economic problems, but I did everything I could to remain at Juve, even if I received far more advantageous offers. A year ago I didn’t even want to know about them, but this season it was right to do so, seeing as some clubs would have set up a golden bridge to take me there.”
Just as the situation seemed to be beyond repair and Inter were closing in, Nedved took matters into his own hands.
“My agent Mino Raiola got angry with me yet again, but at the end of the day I am the one who decides where to play. I invited director of sport Alessio Secco to my house for dinner and we resolved everything as friends.
“It was the right way to go, as I have many friends in Turin and we still have a mission to accomplish – qualifying for the Champions League. We’re perhaps still a little bit off the Scudetto, but the transfer market isn’t over yet and the more champions arrive, the better.”

Haha. Nedved is the man.
The best thing about this is he stuck the finger up at Mino Raiola - who was probably trying to get the talks to break down so Nedved would leave and he would get a tidy sum, so Nedved said "screw you" and done it himself.
Karma for Zlatan .

Ya, i couldn't see him in an Inter shirt. Blonde and blue don't look good. Better he stays blond and black.

Nedved’s Tokyo temptation Friday 8 February, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Japanese outfit FC Tokyo are reportedly considering a speculative bid for Juventus veteran Pavel Nedved.
The 35-year-old penned a new deal with the Old Lady last summer and was expected to conclude his career in Turin.
However, it seems that he may be offered a lucrative deal that would allow him to prolong his playing days.
“A move for Nedved isn’t out of the question,” FC Tokyo official Fumitoshi Wakabayashi told Retuers.
“The club is always trying to improve and he could be one option, but there is nothing concrete at this stage and I can’t say whether there has been an approach at any level.”
Japanese newspaper Nikkan Sports reports that The Gas Men have already tabled an offer of around £6m to try and lure Nedved to the Land of the Rising Sun.
“It all depends on how things develop from now, but we will do everything we can to sign Nedved,” President Yutaka Murabayashi is quoted as saying.
Nedved is set to play his 200th game for Juve against Udinese this weekend.

I'll be surprised if he accepts this move.

For £6m, he would be making more than any player in Italy. Thats alot of money to turn down.

For £6m it can lol. Its the Japanese league, so Im sure he can manage.
He has lasted this long, and he still has the same great work ethic we have come to know. Been somewhat unfortunate with goals this season, but the 2 he has scored have been important.

I see your point.
Although I doubt he needs the money that badly.

A World Class Player like Pavel Nedved shouldn't go to Japan.

It's a shame that he wants to go to japan.
I think he is still useful player.

This is surprise. It's being speculated that he will stay on for another yr. He is still a good player. Ton's of experience, and u know he is going to give 100% every match. With Giovinco hopefully returning, our left side is covered.
