lol...it wouldn't be right if cerebral_assassin didn't comment on his hairstyle. Personally, i think he suits the short buzzed cut...the long hair doesn't suit him i find.

Camo sets comeback date Wednesday 9 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mauro Camoranesi has reassured Juventus fans he’ll be back in action by the end of the month after yet another injury setback.

“I have to be ready for February. This time I don’t want to risk it,” commented the midfielder who has suffered a series of thigh strains.

“The other times I pushed a little to force an early return to the field and paid the consequences. I feel responsible for my mistakes and want to avoid them this time around.”

The World Cup winner has made just six Serie A appearances this season and picked up his latest injury during the 5-0 win over Palermo on November 25.

He is hoping that the intensive training during this week with the team in Malta can get him back on the right track.

“I had already had some problems over the summer and could not train the way I wanted to, but I have never dragged a muscular injury on for this long.”

Juventus have survived well enough without him, rising to third place and maintaining a Scudetto challenge against all the odds.

“We deserve this third place and I am not remotely surprised. In fact, I don’t understand why so many people are astonished to see us so high up the standings.

“We are accustomed to fighting for the top prizes and our squad was only further consolidated by the year in Serie B. We are satisfied with how we are going, but we will try to win the Scudetto and make the most of those months in which our main opponents are distracted by the Champions League.”

With his return to fitness, the Bianconeri can stage an even stronger assault on the leadership.

“I am happy to help my teammates, but the truth is that here we have a group that is far stronger than its individuals,” continued Camoranesi.

“Claudio Ranieri’s arrival also gave us all renewed enthusiasm and helped us to believe in our potential.”

Camo counts the cost Tuesday 19 February, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus winger Mauro Camoranesi has been hit by a hefty fine for a challenge he made 13 years ago.

The Azzurri star was playing for Alvarado against local rivals Aldosivi in August 1994 when he put in a horror tackle on Javier Pizzo.

The foul effectively ended Pizzo’s career as he was left with damage to his ligaments, meniscus and tendons.

After a lengthy legal process, judge Heber Amalfi has ordered Camoranesi to pay Pizzo around £30,000 in compensation for a tackle, which was “imprudent”.

Pizzo’s knee was reduced to around 39 per cent of its previous capacity and he was sidelined for three years. Upon returning to the game, he was only able to make another four appearances.

Camoranesi’s legal team have indicated that they will appeal the judgement.
