Quote:
Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez has calmed fears that he is considering leaving the Swabians in order to seal a lucrative summer move to one of Europe's leading clubs.
The 21-year-old is currently the Bundesliga's leading goalscorer and also scored on his international debut for Germany against Switzerland earlier this month.
The German press have wasted no time in linking him with Bayern Munich and clubs in Spain, Italy and England, but Gomez has no intention of leaving the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadium yet.
"I didn't sign a contract until 2011 only to leave after a couple of good games," Gomez told Bild. "Loyalty towards my club is more important than big money."
Gomez admitted that Catalan giants Barcelona are his favourite club, but insisted that he will not consider any offers during the summer window.
He added: "If there was an offer from Barca, they would need to be patient as I want to spend more time here at Stuttgart."
Earlier this month Stuttgart director of sport Horst Heldt said not even an offer in the region of €25million (£17million) would tempt them to sell.

One of my all time favourites.
I do believe though that we're lacking a player like him, a central midfielder with a bit of flair and creativity.

Not as a starter though, unless he up's his game over the next few months (if he plays).

I'd have him as a starter alongside someone like Zanetti or Tacchinardi.

That mid wouldn't be good enough to pose a threat against the big clubs. It would get us a top 4 finish, but to really shine, we need some1 world class, or the potential to be world class, alongside Zanetti.
I still like Tacchinardi and Maresca, but they arent the same players they were when they played with Juve.

I'm not sure about that, Maresca was phenomenal when Sevilla won the UEFA Cup last season (including two goals and a man of the match performance in the final). If anything he's reached a new level since playing in Spain.
Tacchinardi is a little different though as his age is a factor but I still think he'd make a good squad player.

Maresca isn't even a regular starter now though, even when fit. From what Ive seen this season, he wouldn't offer that big of an upgrade, to our mid, in terms of challenging for the scudetto. Zanetti/Marseca is something Fiorentina or Palermo would play, not Juve.
Unless Juve can buy him back for cheaper, I dont think he is a worthwhile signing. Also, I dont think its smart to buy back former players.
In any case, Tacchinardi seems to be preferred choice by Juve, for w/e reasons. (probably because he is still owned by Juve)

Tacchinardi and Maresca are different types of players, it's not a case of one or the other.
The point with Maresca is that he offers something different when compared to the other central midfielders currently in our squad. He hasn't been a regular this season but that's only because he was fairly seriously injured early in the campaign and has yet to earn his place back in the team.
Honestly I don't think we'll sign him but for me it would be nice if we did.

I hope we don't get Sissoko after his recent performances for Liverpool. Can't pass in these games, not good in Italy.

He might be better with more time on the ball though.
At first I didn't want him but the more I see him the more I like him.

Gomez again. Not for 17 mil though. Klose would cost a little less.
