Roy Keane to Consider Juventus Move
Roy Keane will this morning sit down with his advisors to discuss the offers of employment from the continent, as well as Scotland and England, that have come in since the midfielder parted company with Manchester United on Friday. The most intriguing of these comes from Juventus but there has also been interest from a prominent club in Spain.
As yet there has been no official approach from the Italian champions, who are five points clear at the top of Serie A, for Keane but there has already been contact and part of Keane's assessments this morning will focus on the concrete nature of many of the proposals. Juve have Patrick Vieira in their midfield already, and Emerson, but Keane's camp have been encouraged by the noises they have heard via a third party
======
Everyone has said for a long time, i wonder how roy keane and Vieira would be together in midfield. Two of the best premierships defensive midfielders in the same midfield, this would be one of the best defensive partnership midfields ever. I can only dream of something like this happening

I doubt it will happen, how will Keane even fit in the lineup, I dont think Capello will want to have Vieira or Emerson bench for Keane, this will only cause internal fights.

I think Juve isnt going to happen but another Italian team may suit him as they play at a lot slower tempo than The Premiership. Trust me Keano still could have done a job at United, he is definally good enough for many big teams across europe. I still havent seen a better tackler of a ball then Keano. Juventus also know all about Keano, but i cant see him going there. He will be a celtic player come january.

Any chance of an escape to Italy for free agent Roy Keane appears to have dissolved after Juventus and Roma ruled themselves out of the running to sign the former Manchester United captain.

Keane with former mentor Ferguson.
The 34-year-old midfielder left Old Trafford by mutual consent last Friday and is free to sign for any club.
However, Juventus general director Luciano Moggi, when asked about his club's reported interest in Keane, said: 'The Juventus team is already strong as it is.'
It is especially strong in midfield and while Juve are one of the few clubs that could meet Keane's wage demands, they would find it difficult to give him time on the pitch.
The defending Serie A champions bolstered their squad in the summer with the signing of Frenchman Patrick Vieira, one of Keane's bitter rivals in the English Premiership during his own nine years at Arsenal.
Brazilian Emerson is also one of the midfield lynchpins in their squad.
Roma have now also ruled themselves out of the running, in even more categorical terms than Juve.
Roma sporting director Daniele Prade said: 'We have never been in contact with Roy Keane or his agent because he is a player that doesn't interest us, not now or in the future.'
Closer to home, Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce did not rule out trying to set up a cross-city switch for the player.
'I think this club would like to be associated with good players and Roy Keane falls into that category,' said Pearce, who spent three years with the tough-tackling midfielder at Nottingham Forest in the early 1990s.
'Every club in the world at the moment has their name attached to Roy Keane. I think the fact we are in a city where he lives and works means we might be attached as well.
'As long as this club continues to get attached to good players I think that is a good thing.
'We are certainly looking at players who might improve our team - we always are and always will be and Roy is a good player, one who can improve our team.
'He is a good player and that is borne out by the number of teams who have been associated with a player who has only been released by his club for a couple of days.'
Celtic would seem a good fit for Keane, though the Hoops chief executive Brian Quinn has pointed out he would need to take a severe cut in wages for the Parkhead club to afford him.
'There are two separate issues,' he told BBC Radio Five Live.
'One is a footballing issue, whether Roy would fit into Gordon's plans and the formation - because the team is playing very well just now and is very settled.
'But that is Gordon's judgement and we have to take that into account.
'The other is the business side, and we would have to wait and see what is proposed.
'We have heard nothing from Roy Keane, nothing from his representatives and until you see what the proposal is, it is premature to offer a view on that.'
Portsmouth were one of the first clubs to declare an interest in Keane, while Wigan, Everton, West Brom and Aston Villa have all been linked to the player.
Birmingham boss Steve Bruce, who played alongside Keane at United in the early 1990s, ruled out making any attempt to bring the Irishman to St Andrews.
Bruce said: 'I think he has still got something left as a player. I know him well. I wouldn't be surprised if something is already sorted. Will we be trying to sign him? No, I think we can rule that one out, that's for sure.'
Bryan Robson re-affirmed his desire to bring former Manchester United team-mate Keane to West Brom.
Robson said: 'Every Premier League manager would have an interest in Roy Keane - but Roy is the only one who will make a decision on what he wants to do.
'I have tried to phone Roy but all I kept getting was his answer machine. If he wants to come to West Brom, I will try to make it happen with the chairman.'

I think Keane would make great coach, but that's beside the point.
He has a lot of leadership capabilities, a team like Fiorentina could use it down the stretch.

Moggi Confirms That The Triad Will Remain At Juve
Quote:
The Juventus General Director denied that he is on his way back to Torino.
In the past days, the rumours were rife that Luciano Moggi would be returning to Torino, a club he was with over 15 years ago. However, the transfer guru categorically denied this, stating instead that he, along with the rest of the triad, will remain in Turin, but on the Juve side.
“The triad will remain in Turin for a long time. I deny in the most absolute way that I can return to Torino. On the contrary, I take this opportunity to re-state that all three of us, me, Giraudo and Bettega, will remain with Juventus: our future is Bianconeri, and on this there can be no doubts. All of the rest is just talk.”

Juventus to ‘keep’ Abbiati
http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...lia/dec8f.html
Quote:
Juventus and Milan have reportedly agreed terms for a swap deal involving Christian Abbiati and Jonathan Zebina.
Although both are presently in the Bianconeri squad, Abbiati is only on loan from the San Siro after the champions needed cover for injured first choice goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.
Abbiati has performed reasonably well since his summer switch and whispers now suggest that the Turin giants want him on a permanent basis.
In order to complete his signing, Juventus will offer Zebina given that next season’s right-back will almost certainly be Bayern Munich stopper Willy Sagnol.
The Italian goalkeeper again defended the net at Rapid Vienna last night and is clearly happy with his form.
"I’m returning to my very best," he said after the 3-1 win in Austria which guaranteed the Old Lady top spot in the group.
"I’m happy with how things are going. We are top in Serie A and finished first in our Champions League sector. You can’t do better than that."
However, Abbiati may soon have to get used to life on the bench again given the return of Buffon.
Although the latter missed last night’s game with a foot injury, he is soon expected to be Fabio Capello’s first choice again.
That has inevitably led to speculation that the permanent capture of Abbiati is one related to transfer use.
Abbiati could be signed but then offered to the likes of Palermo, in a deal which may see Andrea Barzagli and Simone Barone head north.

Juve To Negotiate With Boca For Palacio
Quote:
According to Argentine press Juventus has offered Boca Juniors $US 6 million for the services of talented striker Rodrigo Palacio.
Boca are likely to reject the offer, but has stated that they are willing to negotiate a possible transfer in the near future. Boca president Mauricio Macri will sit down to talk with Juventus officials in the first days of January.
In recent weeks Spanish champions Barcelona has also shown interest in the striker, who was snapped up by Boca earlier in the year from Southerners Banfield. Since arriving at Boca Palacio has made a huge impact and his recent good form may give him an outside chance of being selected in Argentina's 2006 World Cup squad.
Palacio has scored 10 goals so far in the Apertura Championship, as well as scoring on five occasions in the Copa Sudamericana.

Interesting. I've never seen him play so I couldn't comment on his ability. Talented young players is what Juve need at the moment.
Better us getting him than Barcelona.
