I agree. All the rumours were just a ploy to get him an improved contract. He will follow the same path as Totti and De Rossi.

Also, even if he was available, I'm not sure he would be a smart investment. He is a great player, but far to injury prone.

True, but I'd still take him.

His passing is phenomenal and he's got a decent shot on him as well.

I do feel we need someone like Aquilani in midfield.

If we had that type of money though, Id rather go for Montolivo. He has really grown as a player this season. He track's back now and looks for the pass rather than taking on player's all the time. Plus he is versatile. He can play as a CM, AM, or on the left side of a 3 man mid like he does for Fiorentina.

Giovinco-----------------------------------------Camo
------------------Montolivo
-----------------------------------Sissoko

=

we can only dream lol.

Montolivo would be a great choice. I am one of his biggest fans. He is ready for a team like Juventus, but I am sure our management would rather waste money on overrated foreign players like Xabi Alonso or Schweinsteiger.

Juventus are being linked with a shock free transfer swoop for Fiorentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi.

The 29-year-old’s contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi expires this summer and the Czech international has refused to sign a new deal.

Spanish side Sevilla were expected to pounce for Ujfalusi after expressing an interest several months ago, but negotiations hit a brick wall.

Atletico Madrid have been tipped to take advantage of the situation, but now there are suggestions that Ufo has already made a verbal agreement with Juve.

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their squad in pre-season in preparation for a title challenge next term and have already added Swedish international Olof Mellberg to the back line.

But the shopping spree isn't likely to end there and Ujfalusi would be an equally valuable and economical recruit.

Ujfalusi has 64 international caps to his name and has made more than 100 outings in the Fiorentina shirt since arriving from Hamburg in 2004.

Hopefully it's as a cb. Chiellini/Legro/Mellberg/Ujfalusi is good cover.

I agree. Ujfalusi will be a good addition to the Juventus bench.

He's one of the best defenders in the league, to get him on a free would be phenomenal.

Can play RB and CB as well, which is useful.

Juventus have jumped ahead of Milan in the race for Willy Sagnol, but their fans warn Amauri is not worth losing Sebastian Giovinco.

The two Italian giants are accustomed to fighting it out over the transfer market and this summer appears to be a particularly fraught battle.

They are both challenging for the signatures of Palermo striker Amauri and Bayern Munich wing-back Sagnol.

Earlier this week Sagnol confirmed he had been approached by the Rossoneri, but attempted to play down the chances of his departure.

“The Milan directors have been keen to show their interest in me regularly over the last six years,” the 31-year-old told L’Equipe.

“I still have two years of my contract, but I will pay close attention to what happens over the next few days.”

It is now reported in the Corriere dello Sport that Juventus general manager Jean-Claude Blanc met with Sagnol’s agents on Friday.

He had already been close to joining Juve in January 2006, but Bayern renewed his contract just before they lost him on a free transfer.
channel4.com - Football Italia

I dont think Ranieri likes Zebina, and Sagnol would be an upgrade on Grygera. Regardless, we should be aiming higher than a 31 yr old who has already reached his peak.

We have so many players at RB already. We should be looking at LB's, CM's and a striker.

Nedved has extended, Aquilani is rumoured to be close to an extension, and Giovinco will most likely return to Juve.

Amauri (Nocerino + 1/2 of Lanzafame + cash), Hamsik (Palladino + cash or Palladino + Blasi + Zalayeta), a lb, and I'll be satisfied.

Amauri Trez
Del Piero
Nedved Sissoko Camo
De Ceglie Chiellini Legro Zebina
Buffon

Ideally, Id like us to try for Vargas, but I cant see us paying 12+ million euro's. I think we should give De Ceglie a shot at lb. He has done a good at Siena, and I dont think he can be any worse than Molinaro. Plus for Europe you need a certain amount of youth player's I believe. It's a gamble, but we survived with Molinaro this season against the big sides (he does have some positives to his game).

Del Piero Iaquinta
Giovinco
Hamsik Zanetti Marchionni
Molinaro Andrade Mellberg Grygera

My only concern is Andrade and Marchionni. Andrade will be returning from another serious injury for the 2nd consecutive season, and Marchionni seem's unable to play for period's longer than a month.

Also, Hamsik and Giovinco can be 1st team player's, but I'm giving our senior players the benefit of the doubt.

Ive purposely underestimated our transfer budget. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. Let's say we only have a transfer budget of £12m, plus sales.

Tiago and Almiron will definitely be out. I doubt we will get back the combined £15m we paid. Let's say £10m (Spurs were willing to pay £9m in January for Tiago alone, so this is a huge underestimate).

£22m total. De Ceglie is co-owned with Siena, and they probably want at least £3m. The cash component of the Amauri is rumoured to be £10m. £9m left for Hamsik should be enough, considering all the player's we can offer them (full ownership of Blasi and/or Zalayeta, as well as Palladino.)

This is a very flexible lineup with young and experience mixed well. As well as, a very good ratio of mentors to developing stars. We would still need to improve the CM in January, and maybe bring in a better RM to backup Camoranesi.

Another option would be to play Hamsik in the CM role, although I would prefer to groom him for Nedved's position, which is a position he wouldn't need much grooming for, considering he plays it frequently with the NT and in a similar role at Napoli.

I dont think cash alone will be enough to tempt Napoli to sell Hamsik. Blasi, Zalayeta and Palladino should interest them. Plus we might as well save some money and include player's that are surplus. It would cut our wage bill as well.

Amauri > Gilardino. I was a fan, but over the last 2 season's he has declined. He is more concerned with his next dive than his next goal. Amauri is a more complete player, more skilled, in better form, and over the past 2 season's his influence has continued to grow, whereas Gilardino cant even force himself into an injury filled lineup and is skipped over for an 18 yr old with no serie a experience. Not to mention Milan paid £18m, so they wont accept an offer of 5 mil.

True, true.

A move might be good for Gila though, I think he's gone a bit stale at Milan. Plus he's taken a lot of critisism over the last couple of years. He's a Juventus fan, we'll probably get an extra 20% out of him. However, any move would be a risk.
