According to the German press, Juve could very well land Frings, who apparently has already received a contract offer of 3 mil per yr. Admittedly, I havent seen him play much, and maybe thats y I dont rate him, but 3 mil a yr seems kind of steep. However, im sure Juve know what their doing. There the last team in Italy to blow money.

Juve's only serious striker target at this point is Luca Toni, who is simply on another planet from Zigic.

Spurs are the offical "default English club where there is no basis for anything" for a significant majority of continental football journalists. I have come to the conclusion that Levy et al actually encourage this to some extent, as they seem to believe it makes Tottenham look like a "big" club in European terms.

Zigic should stay in Spain, where he is treading in the well-worn and immobile (but not unsuccessful) footsteps of his football brethren Kovacevic and Milosevic. I actually hadn't realised that Savo was still at Osasuna until he came on at the death against Sevilla, but his entrance was enough to raise a quarter-smile.

Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings has confirmed that he may join Juventus at the end of the season.

The German international was paired with the Bianconeri recently, but Werder’s sporting director Klaus Allofs had insisted that the ace would honour his contract that runs until 2009.

However, Frings has today admitted that a Turin switch may be on the cards for the 2007-08 campaign.

“Juventus want me at all costs,” said Frings to Bild Zeitung. “They are interested in me not as any midfielder, but as the midfielder.

“I am seriously considering this option,” added the player, who returned to Bremen in 2005 after two seasons with Borussia Dortmund and one at Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Allofs’ position seems to have changed as the official has now claimed that he wouldn’t stand in the way of the proposed transfer.

“I am surprised that he is speaking so openly about this, but we will not let this put us under pressure,” said the director.

“When you sign a contract you commit to honouring it, but if Torsten does not want to stay then I will not put chains on him to drag him to training in the morning.”

Emerson has slammed former teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira for opting to join Inter last summer. “They didn’t respect Juve,” argued the Real Madrid man.

The three men were part of a mass exodus after the club’s demotion to Serie B, but the midfielder can’t comprehend why either of the duo opted to join the Nerazzurri – a club who were assigned Juventus’ Scudetto last season.

“After what happened last year some players had to leave as that was only logical,” said Emerson to Sky Italia.

“In my case, I received some offers and discussed them with the club. We solved the situation in five minutes and I have to thank everyone at Juventus,” added Il Puma.
