Looked ok, however Panathinikos were awful, didn't really threaten at all. Slightly worried at the amount of times their left winger was able to cut in from the right, but once he did he ran out of ideas and just kept running across the edge, only to lose the ball.

Still think we need a commanding centre back to look to replace De Vos, possibly that Cesar Navas, seemed to fit the bill from what i've heard.

Ipswich midfielder Gavin Williams is facing up to four months on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments. Williams ruptured his medial ligament in Town's friendly win over Panathinaikos on Sunday.

Sylvain Legwinski (foot) will also require a fitness test before being passed fit to face The Owls.

Wednesday manager Brian Laws should hand a debut to Francis Jeffers against the club that tried desperately to sign him over the summer.

Jeffers could start alongside Marcus Tudgay as Deon Burton is struggling with a knee injury.

Laws, who has Chris Brunt available before a three-match ban, should have everyone other than Burton to choose from.

Gary Roberts goal was quality, it was like a crapper version of Van Persie's volley against Charlton and a lot closer. Still, he knows he needs to impress as Williams was earmarked to be ahead of him till injury, and Jaime Peters will be back in contention soon as he is getting a deserved rest after playing at the u20 world cup.

An all round quality performance, hopefully we haven't peaked too soon and can build on the performance

Saved 10,000 pounds ( Jeffers wage )and no Yellow cards. Still need to bolster the defence I feel but nevertheless a strong start. Enjoy.

Defence again, Harding miss + yellow card, leaking like a sieve. How long is it since town spent any money on a defender, or any player come to think of it, good, bad or ageing.?
