Scotland international Neil Alexander has joined Ipswich Town on a free transfer.
The goalkeeper has signed a three-year contract at Portman Road after being released by Championship rivals Cardiff City at the end of last season.
Other second tier clubs were interested in the 29-year-old, while he also considered offers from the SPL.
But Alexander did not hesitate to link up with Ipswich as soon as he was aware of manager Jim Magilton's interest.
"There were a few clubs interested, but once I knew that Ipswich were keen my mind was made up straightaway," Alexander told the club's official website.
"The club is highly respected in the game, so is the manager and I was made to feel wanted from the first moment I spoke to Ipswich.
"I was impressed by what I saw at the end of last season when Cardiff were beaten here and you could see that it's a club moving forward and I'm thrilled to be part of that.
"There are some really good players here and I can't wait to get going."
Hard to think our 3 'new signings' were almost all old players until Wright saw £ signs! Don't know Alexander, but we need to sort that defence out, we were ok for goalkeepers
