did you know that in 1986 first game of the World Cup, Portugal defeats England 1-0 on Carlos Manuel blast. Bento was the keeper he broke his leg, got back to Portugal and never played again. Damas sub Bento but by then the portuguese players basically demanded more money, they went on strike and lost the next two games.

after the world cup they were still on strike, Portugal use the B team and tied Germany in Germany, all the players comeback and since then they all making decent money, if Figo and others are making tons of money they have to thank those players.

Luis Figo has joined Real Madrid teammates Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos in claiming Arsenal are the team to beat in this season's Champions League.
Asked about the Gunners' 5-1 win at Inter Milan last week, Figo told The Sun: "That result was incredible. To score so many goals against an Italian side away from home - you just don't see it happening.

"The result was so impressive. All three of the English teams are really strong but the biggest threat, I would say is Arsenal."

He added, "Chelsea have signed some great players but I don't think enough have experience of the Champions League to reach the semi-finals or final this year.

"We had two fantastic games with Manchester United last season but the most difficult to beat would be Arsenal."

They were impressive, Arsenal is a team that I don't want to meet again. I hope Figo can see first hand how good they are, because the way Real plays, Arsenal will play the counter, and Henry will have a field day. :mrgreen:
