Ivan Cordoba - extends until 2012
Cordoba will most likely miss the rest of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee against Liverpool.

Please, this is a cruel joke. Please stop.
I just want to end this season. And they complain we have a huge team.
Looks like Rivas is going to play more, and he'll impress.
Chivu and Burdisso and Rivas for CL.
Fuk it. Sick of this shit.

Inter have had the worst luck when it comes to injuries this season, but then again they've got the squad to deal with it.

Horrible one of my favorite Colombian players, down for the season on what looked like a freak injury. Cordoba and Inter, now Eduardo and Arsenal, crap few days.

Cordoba pens "lifetime contract" Monday 9 June, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ivan Ramiro Cordoba has extended his Inter agreement until June 30, 2012 in what he is calling “a lifetime contract.”
The Colombian defender put pen to paper on a new deal this afternoon that will keep him at the club until he turns 36 years of age.
“We can say, simply, that this is a lifetime contract, because this is the meaning of the agreement and these are the sentiments tying me to Inter,” he said on the official website.
Cordoba has not played since sustaining a serious knee ligament injury during the ill-fated Champions League match with Liverpool on February 19.
If he sees out the entirety of his contract, it will mean the star notches up an impressive 12 years in the Nerazzurri jersey.
He first joined from Argentine side San Lorenzo Almagro in January 2000.

An interesting decision given his performances over the last year or two.

Interesting? What are you on about?
He was excellent until the injury.

I disagree, he's gone downhill recently.
Although I'm not doubting he's been a real servant for you these past eight years, I just can't see him being a starter.

You can disagree all you want, but up to the Liverpool game in England, he was excellent. He and Samuel made an incredible duo.
The reason he was signed for so long, is that he is completely devoted to the side, and he is very happy to come off the bench when needed. That is what happened this year.
With JM now in charge, he must of had some say in this.
As for starters, next year its Samuel and a "new guy". Who that is? I have no idea.
Rivas, Cordoba and Matrix as backups.
I expect Burdisso to be gone.

His biggest asset is his pace, even slightly average defenders can look good when they're quick enough to recover from mistakes and poor positioning.
