Good football and a very entertaining match. A bit sad that some of the supporters had a quiet demonstration.

I would just like to say that Luis Jimenez is on fire at the moment. He did very well against a tough midfield, and found space. Great link up between him and the defense and attackers.
If he plays like this more, we may have found a true footballer. Stankovic might of lost his place.
Its obvious we have the Mancini influence on another of our players..

Inter is, at the moment, one of the best teams in Europe and with some luck they can take both the Scudetto, CL and the Italian Cup this season.

Its much too premature for this, I think we still have to tighten up defensively. We can't play this wide open in the CL, especially against Liverpool.
I just want to see gradual improvement from here on out.
But I will tell you this Penny, Mancini has proven his skeptics wrong. He stated he needed a few years to adapt to Inter and get his players playing his "way". And its happening, though I think he still is underrated and respected, not even by Inter fans.
Mancini is a teacher of the game, this is his strong point. Tactically he is still has MUCh to learn copared to a Ancelotti, Capello, Wenger or Mourinho. But its coming.....

One of the factors that can destroy for Internazionale this season is injures. Walter Samuel's season is probably over, and you have players like Dejan Stankovic, Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo and Olivier Dacourt on the injure list already.
Mancini should stay, even I'm not sure how the Inter fans had said if Mourinho had 'proposed' to Milano.
Stability and continuity are important factors to success and Mancini should stay IMO for a long time.

I have not heard the prognosis on Samuel's injury. He walked off the pitch, I'm thinking its ligament damage of some sort, so I'm cautiously optimistic that it isn't bad.
And for those of you that missed it, here is Mancini and Inter giving Milan some respect after they came back from Japan as champions. Very classy by Mancio and the Inter team.....

Jimenez: "Thanks to the fans"
Sunday, 23 December 2007 18:41:06
MILAN - Luis Jimenez spoke on Al Jazeera after Inter's derby win over AC Milan.
"It was really nice to play this game," the Chilean midfielder admitted. "We're happy because we won after coming from behind.
"I thank all the fans for their applause when I was substituted. They were wonderful."

Cambiasso: "Great end to a great year"
Sunday, 23 December 2007 19:18:03
MILAN - Esteban Cambiasso added to Julio Cruz' equaliser to seal a 2-1 derby win for Inter.
"It was an important victory for all our fans," he said. "It was nice to finish off a great year in the best possible way.
"My goal? I hit the ball as hard as I could. It went in and I'm very happy because so many fans rejoiced.
"I'm dedicating the goal to my wife and family because they always follow me with affection.
"Today's result doesn't change the value of the two teams. We did very well today and now we will enjoy this victory before we start again in January.
"The Milanese can be pleased because they have two of the strongest teams in the world."

Ibra: "A confidence-boosting win"
Sunday, 23 December 2007 18:51:36
MILAN - Zlatan Ibrahimovic commented on the Nerazzurri's derby victory over AC Milan.
He said: "I'm very pleased with this victory before the Christmas break. It's a great finish to this first part of the season, and we have to play the second part with the same determination.
"It wasn't easy to come back against a team like Milan but we did and this gives us even more confidence.
"We're playing better and better. To be the best you have to show it on the pitch and we will give our all. We will see who wins at the end of the season."

Mancini: "We did really well"
Sunday, 23 December 2007 19:04:34
MILAN - Roberto Mancini is delighted with his team's performance in the Christmas derby victory over AC Milan.
He said. "We beat the world champions and this makes the victory even sweeter. It was a nice match between two great teams. We did well but we haven't finished the first half of the season yet. There are still a lot of games to play so we can't think we have already won.
"Ibra below par? He has been out for a week because he had a small problem with one of his knees, and he hadn't played for two weeks. But even in this condition he's still a decisive player.
"I'm pleased because the boys did very well. They played an excellent game and did very well. It can be harder when you go a goal down but we know our strength and the boys continued playing and got the result.
"They took the lead from their only shot in the first half, but Pirlo's free kick was extraordinary.
"We know we still have a lot of work to do. We must continue on this path."

I just saw that. We never get a break. Well at least Materazzi is back. We have options, I'm really disappointed, but not bothered.
Cordoba and Matrix can play the middle, and if one of the midfielders comes back, we can play Chivu there.
Very sad though, just the way it happened.

Very good game to watch.
Pirlo's freekick was superb, I honestly couldn't see him scoring with it being so close to the goal. But to be fair after that Inter were pretty much in control. The only threat Milan ever posed was on the counter with Kaka.
Cruz took his goal well, he's got to be the most underrated player in the league right now. And how Ambrosini missed I'll never know.
But what was up with that pussy of a ref? Using Milan's physio!
