As you can see, Mancini is going to be playing a lot of young players.
I hope that Bozoni plays, a lot of Italians are very big on this guy, and I know Inter want him to succeed.

Mancio: Playing to win Wednesday 12 December, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inter boss Roberto Mancini insists that the Nerazzurri will go out to win against PSV tonight – even though they have nothing to play for.
The Italian champions have already secured top spot in Group G and have little motivation, but their Dutch opponents are fighting for a place in the last 16.
“Inter, like all great sides, always play to win,” Mancini stressed at his pre-match UEFA Press conference.
“We have brought all our top players and we won’t be experimenting. I think that it’s the right thing to do to play your best even though you have already secured qualification.”
It won’t be a full side, however, as Olivier Dacourt, Luis Figo, Francesco Toldo, Patrick Vieira, Luis Jimenez and Dejan Stankovic are all injured.
“We would have liked to have left some of the more tired players at home, but we can’t do that as we wouldn’t even have 15 players,” Mancio moaned.
“So it’s down to the lads to grit their teeth and wait for next week for a rest. We will see how fit the players are when we get to Holland.
“Maxwell has a knee problem and we aren’t sure if he will play. Cristian Chivu will be in midfield with Nelson Rivas in at centre-back.
“Marco Materazzi played well for 60 minutes against Torino, but I don’t know whether he can manage 90 yet – it’s up to him.
“This will be a good chance for Hernan Crespo, as he will play up front,” Mancini concluded. “He has been impressive over the last 10 days and hopefully can use this as a chance to regain fitness.”

Its 1-0 to Inter, on Cruz goal...though David Sauzo did all the work, and I mean all the work. He really adds another dimension to our team. Damn fast.
If he is blowing by Dutch players, you know he is fast.
BTW, we are playing with a 4-3-3. Three strikers up front, but we just took out Cruz, and I didn't make out who we brought on....???

..and you know a team is dominating, when they make you play their game. Right now, Inter are forcing the dutch to play Inter or Italian football. Holding on to the ball, and they are running around.

Champions League, Gp G Matchday 6 - 12/12/07 (19.45)
PSV 0 - 1 Inter
Cruz 63 (I)
Philips Stadium
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Julio Cruz scored the only goal as a reshuffled Inter ended their group phase with a 1-0 win away to PSV Eindhoven.
The Nerazzurri were already qualified and secure of the top spot before going into this match, so between injuries and bans Roberto Mancini made sweeping changes to his squad, including 18-year-old Francesco Bolzoni and a trident attack. Nicolas Burdisso, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Walter Samuel were suspended, with Luis Jimenez, Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo, Olivier Dacourt and Francesco Toldo injured.
Hernan Crespo almost immediately set up a great chance for Santiago Solari, but his shot was smothered by Gomes from point-blank range. PSV Eindhoven threatened from distance with Culina and Afellay.
Zonneveld's fierce free kick skimmed the target, but PSV went down to 10 men after just 29 minutes. David Suazo pounced on a Marco Materazzi clearance from a PSV set play and was clear on goal when he was brought down by Mendez.
Julio Cruz combined with Maxwell and the Brazilian's effort was charged down, but Inter should have taken the lead before half-time. Crespo just failed to get on the end of the assist, then Cruz's follow-up was cleared off the line by Zonneveld, possibly with an arm.
After the restart Crespo hesitated and therefore failed to make the most of a defensive error, then Cruz fired off target from a Douglas Maicon assist.
Cruz should have broken the deadlock on the hour mark when Suazo dispossessed Salcido, but the Argentine incredibly ballooned over the bar.
He made up for it by scoring soon after. Suazo deserves much of the credit, as he went on a fantastic mazy run past Alcides and Simons to roll across for the unmarked Cruz to finish it off.
PSV needed a result to qualify and they poured forward even a man down, Lazovic firing over from a promising position, but Solari who hit the post when one-on-one with Gomes.
The Dutch outfit didn't give in and Perez went close, but with a man down and Inter on solid form, they conceded defeat.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PSV: Gomes; Marcellis, Salcido, Alcides, Mendez; Simons, Afellay (Aissati 64), Culina, Zonneveld; Farfan (Perez 62), Lazovic (Jonathan 84)
Inter: Julio Cesar; Cordoba, Rivas, Materazzi, Maxwell (Zanetti 86); Solari, Bolzoni, Chivu (Cambiasso 68); Suazo, Crespo, Cruz (Puccio 75)

Mancio enjoys trident test Wednesday 12 December, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roberto Mancini may use the trident attack again in future and assures Inter’s victory in Eindhoven was not a foregone conclusion.
“This was certainly not a friendly. It was in the Champions League and PSV still had some chance of qualifying,” said the Coach after their 1-0 win.
The Nerazzurri were already secure of top spot in their group, but the Dutch outfit needed a result and for Fenerbahce to struggle against CSKA Moscow. Their chances were further hit when they went down to 10 men after 29 minutes.
With so many players injured or suspended, Mancio opted for Julio Cruz, Hernan Crespo and David Suazo upfront.
“The trident went pretty well, as they moved around, helped each other and created chances. Obviously it can improve with time.”
This match allowed long-term injury cases like Marco Materazzi and Crespo to regain their fitness.
“Materazzi was able to stay on the field for 90 minutes. After 70 he got a little tired, but he grit his teeth and did well,” explained Mancini.
“Crespo also needs to play. He has games sometimes where nothing seems to be going his way, but then when he breaks that deadlock you can’t stop him.”
The draw for the next round does not phase the tactician, who insists even a seemingly easy pairing won’t mean anything.
“Every club is strong, plus things could change from now to February, so it would be silly to predict now what will happen then.”
It remains to be seen whether Adriano will be placed back into Inter’s Champions League squad list when he finishes his rehabilitation programme in Brazil.
“Adriano has gone to Brazil to get out of this difficult moment. He is training hard and things seem to be going well, so we all hope when he returns in January he’ll be in good shape.”

Inter duo’s nightmare draws Thursday 13 December, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inter stars Esteban Cambiasso and Marco Materazzi claim victory over PSV was important and have identified the sides they want to avoid in the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri had nothing to play for against their Dutch opponents last night, but they came away from Eindhoven with a 1-0 win.
“It was satisfying as things were said in the build-up and we had to defend our honour,” Cambiasso explained.
“Every time we put on this shirt we have a duty to do well. It was an important game for players who haven’t had that much playing time so far this season and they impressed.
“All the sides in the last 16 are very strong and perhaps the strongest are Roma, even if we can’t play them at that stage.”
Materazzi has returned from injury and was in an upbeat mood after the final whistle in Holland.
“It was a game that mattered a lot, even if the result wasn’t important for us,” the Matrix grinned.
“Whoever goes out there wants to show that they deserve to play for Inter.”
Unlike Cambiasso, former Everton stopper Materazzi sees the Premier League teams as the Beneamata’s most dangerous rivals.
“Once you get to the last 16, any side is as good as another,” he claimed.
“But I would avoid the English. They are very good teams and they have such great fans. Liverpool really impressed me on Tuesday.”

I noticed a definite improvement in his play in the last few months. He seems more comfortable, with his surroundings.
This was my point with many Inter tifosi who to this day, hate Sauzo. He is here to replace what Martins gave, and more so. Martins can't do that.

Yeah, agreed.
He's more complete than Martins, ie. he does more than just score goals.
