Gazzaev: Italians do it better Thursday 8 November, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CSKA Moscow boss Valeri Gazzaev proved to be magnanimous in defeat after his side were stunned by a magnificent Inter fight-back.
The Russians had led the Italian champions 2-0 after half an hour, but braces from Esteban Cambiasso and Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw the points taken stayed in Milan.
Despite the bitter taste of a defeat that puts his side out of the competition, CSKA’s tactician had nothing but praise for the Nerazzurri.
“Congratulations to Inter as their experience and talent made the difference,” Gazzaev stated after the match. “They deserved to win tonight.
“I’m happy with the way my side played even if we ran out of gas in the second half, but I made a mistake playing three at the back.
“Italian football is still the best on the planet – you just have to look at Milan as European champions and the national side as world champions,” he concluded.

Excellent comment. Serie A is a lot better than most people give it credit for, even with a crappy Milan.

It's been better but it's certainly better than what people give it credit for.
