Very good CL draw for Inter
...as opposed to other years.
Group G: Inter, PSV, CSKA Moscow, Fenerbahce
I just await to find out when we head to Moscow to play. But considering we are going to miss a few players, this is not too bad.

Definately an easy group.
Inter will def top the group.
And I honestly expect Fenerbahce to finish 2nd.

Nothing is ever easy for Inter. Right as we speak, we are playing like shit. However, this should help a bit. And get this team playing tight and compact.
But you are right. I think we should do reasonably well.

what makes you say that ?
fenerbahce are a decent side but they play badly in europe...they played a poor anderlecht side who are usually the whooping boys in europe...they have kezman in strike who is in-consistent...i think they will finish bottom of the group...
inter are favorites but i think cska can beat them at lokomotiv and maybe even snatch a point away...they just about beat spartak last season and spartak have a horrible defence...
psv are good opposition for any team but they have sold kone and IMO farfan is their only real striker..cska can get 4points from them also...
i am confident in cska this year...last season we were unlucky not too qualify from a tough group and the team has been strengthened with janczyk, ramon, caner and ratinho...with igor and danny back for inter's games, we have a strong chance of qualification....
btw here is when cska play inter...
oct 23 - matchday 3
inter (lokomotiv or dynamo)
nov 7 - matchday 4
inter (san siro)

That's not too bad, but it will be colder in Moscow around that time I imagine.
I think nobody is suggesting that there will be an easy match. Trust me, as Inter fans we don't overlook any one. Italian teams don't do that. We generally respect every one.

true...inter are my favorite team in italy but i saw last week's game against udinese...not good especially since their rivals won convincingly but inter were playing a tough team...
btw, samuel look bad..gyan was all over him...dacourt is poor also but i suppose he is your 3rd choice dm...

Its been a good six months or so, since Inter has had their true starting eleven, and now with Materazzi out, it is uphill mountain. However, the team will come around sooner or later, l just hope its not later.
Its not out of the relm of possibility that Inter have a shit Serie A campaign or start, and they go on a tear in the CL. Anything can happen in this sport.
When you have a team built to run and score, and they aren't doing that, then the defense comes into play, and if they are not up to the "game", then you can realise what the likely outcome will be.

Easy group, but we'll manage to make it difficult for ourselves.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini played down a favourable Champions League draw, while Roma are itching for revenge against Manchester United.
The Nerazzurri can have few complaints after landing PSV, CSKA Moscow and Fenerbahce and will surely fancy their chances of beginning their bid to conquer Europe by topping the group.
“It was a good draw,” admitted Inter stopper Maco Materazzi. “They are good sides, but it is certainly better than facing Barcelona or Manchester United.
“We have problems with suspensions and injuries, but we shouldn’t moan. We should look to get through at all costs.”
The Matrix’s enthusiasm contrasted with boss Mancini’s caution as he insisted that no win could be taken for granted in this showpiece event.
“It’s a difficult draw as always,” the ex-Samp hitman maintained. “When you look at a tournament of quality sides like the Champions League, it is very hard to rank the sides in order of ability.”
The draw was less kind to the Roman representatives with Lazio set to take on Real Madrid, Werder Bremen and Olimpiakos, while Roma must exorcise their demons against a Manchester United side who beat them 7-1 last year.
“The lads have been carrying that defeat with them for a long time and to have the chance to bury that memory is a great incentive,” Giallorossi Coach Luciano Spalletti acknowledged.
“But the other sides are tough too. Dynamo Kiev have a strong attack with Serhiy Rebrov and other quality players and we will have to play out there when it is really cold.
"Sporting Lisbon are also a very decent side who show their true ability when they are at home.”
Holders Milan were grouped with Benfica, Celtic and Cristiano Lucarelli’s Shakhtar Donetsk, a draw which Vice-President Adriano Galliani believes bodes well.
“All I will say is that we have good memories of Benfica after two Finals we won there and Celtic are a good omen as every time we play them we end up getting to the Final,” he enthused.
Milan take on Sevilla in the Super Cup on Friday and will wear the No 16 as a mark of respect for Rojiblancos midfielder Antonio Puerta who died last weekend.

There is no easy game, but we should qaulify. Extremely vital to establish dominance in this, by winning all games at homes, and try to get clean sheets at all costs.

CSKA are the dark horses of this group, they'll be tough to beat (especially in Russia).
I don't think this group with be quite as easy for Inter as everyone is making it out to be.

an insight into cska for fans of inter and the other teams in the group....
cska frequently play a 3-5-2 formation at home with 2 dm's protecting the back 3 and 2 wingers. an attacking midfielder plays behind the 2 strikers. cska revert to a cautious strategy for away games by adding another midfielder for a striker...
the team is really strong at the back and rarely concede although that may be put down to akinfeev who is brilliant in goal but he will be injured until at least mid-october after suffering a serious knee injury. mandrykin is an able deputy but he is not in the class of igor.
the back 3 consist of the 2 berezutskiy brother playing either side of the talented sergey ignashevich. the 2 brothes can make mistakes but are solid in the tackle, strong in the air and mark well. ignashevich is perfect but he lackes some pace over the first few yards but he is quick enough.
elvir rahimic and evgeny aldonin are the 2 dm's whose sole aim is to protect the 3 cb's. both are great tacklers and are solid although they don't offer much in terms of attacking.
on the wings we have krasic (right) and zhirkov (left). both are quick and great dribblers of the ball. they can also cross pretty well bu krasic is more adept to being played through the middle.
the playmaker is generally daniel carvalho and he should be fully fit come the first inter game. he has a wonderful left foot and is the perfect playmaker. he can play wide left also. cska also have dudu who is their all-round central midfielder who provides the link between the back 3 and attack.
up front the team will probably play vagner and jo. they both compliment each other well, jo is tall and good in the air but has a great shot and vagner loves picking up the flick on's and running at defenders and has improved a great deal in the last year. he is currently joint top scorer in the rpl with roman adamov.
the team tactics are generally to suffocate the midfield and the 2 dm's close down player very quickly and allow little time to dwell on the ball. the 2 wingers have great stamina and help out the back a lot. cska like to vary the play and sometimes play through the middle whilst also via the wings...
the team has not had a great rpl campaign so far but injuries to several key players as well as international call ups have caused this but the team has been picking up form lately....
cska's bad points are that the squad is really young and many new signings have never tasted cl games before...plus key players are still out...

We don't need to beat them in Russia, we have to beat them at home. Every game is difficult, nothing is gauranteed. The key to CL football is NOT giving up points at home, we will fight this time around.
We are all waiting for Zlatan to take next step and I think he can and he will. Why? Just a gut feeling.
I feel this year, instead of being a "team" effort. Inter will do well, if Zlatan does well.
He has been basically responsible for all of Inter's goals in the two games we have played.
That says to me, he in form and he finding the spaces.

He's got issues when it comes to scoring in Europe though, both for Inter and Juve.

All mental really Joel. All of Inter had trouble scoring in Europe. Then we ran into the negative football played by Valencia, and he didn't have a chance.
