Mancio shadow over Zac
Roberto Mancini is again being tipped to replace Alberto Zaccheroni at Inter after the club’s recent slump.
Zac has only been in the job for a matter of months yet he may face the axe if the Nerazzurri’s desperate form continues.
The former Milan tactician replaced Hector Cuper earlier this season after the Argentine collected just nine points from six games.
Zaccheroni arrived and instantly turned things around after six wins and a draw from his first seven League matches.
Yet just when many thought Inter were finally ready to battle it out with the big boys, they’ve returned to their inconsistent ways.
As if to prove the point, Inter have collected just eight points from their last eight games. A run of form which has seen them lose at home to both Empoli and Udinese.
Inter now run the risk of failing to qualify for next season’s Champions’ League with Lazio currently three points ahead of them in the table.
Should the San Siro giants fail to net a place in Europe’s premier competition then a change of Coach may be considered at the end of the season.
The number one contender is Lazio’s Roberto Mancini who was already targeted last summer.
He decided to stay in Rome but he may now be willing to join Inter given Lazio’s continuing financial problems.
Mancini, who is tied to Lazio until 2008, has also been strongly linked with Real Madrid and Tottenham in recent weeks.
