Cassano to Inter?
Selon Channel 4
Quote:
Inter are ready to renew their rivalry with Juventus by taking them on in the chase to sign Antonio Cassano.
Reports yesterday suggested that the Bianconeri had made an initial bid for the Roma sensation.
But the Milan giants are ready to complicate matters by tabling a more enticing offer to the capital outfit.
Juve are understood to have offered around £9m, plus Adrian Mutu, for the striker who is only contracted to Roma until 2006.
The Stadio Olimpico side are believed to have turned that down by requesting two players, Mutu and Alessio Tacchinardi, plus £10.5m. (still not enough)
That may allow Inter to hijack Juve’s move on the player who is so desperately wanted by Bianconeri boss Fabio Capello.
Owner Massimo Moratti is allegedly ready to hand over £10m plus two players such as Emre or Giorgios Karagounis.
However, there is also the possibility that Inter may offer Roma the services of Alvaro Recoba.
The Uruguayan, who has also been linked with Sampdoria, is set to leave the San Siro after failing to break into the first team.
The proposed arrival of Recoba would apparently be welcomed by Francesco Totti, who signed a new deal with Roma this week after receiving ‘guarantees’ about summer signings.
Cassano has also been linked with Real Madrid but the Italian international is likely to remain in Serie A.

You could do something crazy and stay at Roma Antonio...please!

i agree.
think of him as a faster better rooney though.....he would only fit in if we went to a narrow diamond, which the performances v liverpool and in the prem have proven, doesnt work.

You're such a football sim'er, hanuma. I thought this too though, with Juventus and Inter offering minimal fees and relying much on player trading to strike a deal - it could attract attention from abroard. Probably wants to remain in Italia though..

He would go to Real Madrid. he's said before he'd love to play for them and his Uncle (or someone) has once said that we would go as well.

Inter have plenty of bargaining chips at the moment. Emre, Karagunis and Recoba could all help Roma at the moment in my opinion, especially if they decide to keep Montella up front.
The other question is where do we put Cassano. He's such a skilled forward that he could play with Martins, Vieri or Adriano. In the end I think the club has a huge advantage over Juve or Milan, we could do something, or we could stand pat.
Cassano could be potential insurance if Adriano does leave in the near future.
Gilardino is the best young Italian in Italy, but Cassano is the most skilled.

I disagree about you having a huge advantage, Jager. You must remember it's down to Cassano to agree terms with the club at some point..are you coached by Fabio Capello?
..and to be honest, we can match your offering of Recoba with Mutu and Emre with Tacchinardi. Karagounis? C'mon now..
Agree totally with what I've marked bold.

No, no, you misunderstood.
An advantage in that we could do nothing or we could make a move. I think Milan and Juve still want to bolster their front two. That's what I meant. Believe me, Milan and Juve have very skilled people running the show. Inter know this first hand.
Karagunis is a skilled hardworker. He will give it his all, and he plays clean. In no way I'm suggesting that it would be just Karagunis, however any move could involve him and another player....and I think he could help Roma, seeing how the Roman midfield was manhandled by most teams this year.
Cassano is a pipe dream at best, however the club has options, and if we lose Adriano, things won't be as bad.
One other thing, I guess the fact that Roma and Inter have yet to play, it has delayed a lot of announcements about player transfers.

Cassano might be tempted by Inter though, he supported them as a child and has many friends there.

he's leaving, there's no doubt. It's just a question of where. Inter? only if we move Adriano (which seeme quite likely right now). Juve/Milan? depends, I think on the players offered in the swap. Roma will be looking for the better midfielder coming across in the deal. So whom do Milan & Juve have to offer?
