Dejan "Deki" Stankovic - leaving Inter?
Contract negotiations have stalled after he requested £2.5m a season, both Milan and Real Madrid are interested.

We will sign him, as he has proven to be extremely useful. He can play wing and in the middle, and he love the club and its fans.
He is a fighter, and doesn't disappear during big games.

Stankovic's agent is frustrated with the lack of progress towards signing a new deal.

Contract talk should take place nearer the the end of the season.
Stankovic will get his, and he's worth 2.5 easy.

I think he wants it sorted in January, just like Oddo at Lazio.

He won't go any where, and he loves the club and management.
Gets along great with Mancini, and is finally finding the form that we know he has.
There is absolutely no worry about this. Sign him, and lock him up.

Madrid are sniffing around though.
However, I agree with what you're saying. He's got a good relationship with Mancini and he's playing well at the moment so I can't see there being any problems with him signing.

Real Madrid wants our Stankovic to play as AM???? I find that hard to believe.
Isn't that something.
This is why Italian clubs win their fair share of silverware, but when it comes to flipping players for cash, NOBODY is better than our clubs. They make a killing.

Capello must like him.
If I remember correctly he tried to sign him when he was at Juventus as well.

Stankovic interview from Inter.it:
Many are trying diminish Inter's first place in the table, saying that it is an anomalous championship. What do you think about this?
"I don't worry about what other people say. For me, the Italian championship is still the most difficult in Europe, and Inter are doing great this year. It's true that there's no Juventus or the real Milan, but these things don't concern me or my team-mates. I just want to concentrate on Inter and the matches we face every Wednesday and Sunday."
Is this the strongest Inter team you have played for since joining the club?
"It's an Inter that's winning and collecting many points, so it's right to say it's the strongest Inter. But we shouldn't underestimate the teams of previous years who were still great teams."
It looks like you have reached an agreement to extend your Inter stay until 2010, but you haven't signed the contract. Is this because you want assurances over the future of Mancini?
"Those who say my future depends on Mancini are telling lies, but in general false things are written about these matters. Right now it's more important to look at Inter rather than my or Mancini's contract. These are all things we discuss among ourselves, with our managers and those who take care of these things. We just focus on playing football, and besides, all those who discuss contracts are here, they're not going anywhere. I have never been a 'transfer market man', I hope to finish my career at Inter and sign a contract for life, and I can tell you I'm staying here one hundred percent. Only two words are needed. Inter have spoken with my agent and we're at the start, but there's no problem. Like I said, I'm staying here one hundred percent. If Inter want, I'll sign in front of all of you now for the next ten years."
A lot is always said about Roberto Mancini. Now there are those who say he has matured a lot this season. You have known him for many years. What can you tell us about him? Is it the results that change people's opinions?
"A coach is always judged by his results. If we go back two months, there were those who had already found a replacement for Mancini after two Champions League defeats and a couple of draws in the championship. Now they are comparing him to legends like Trapattoni and old Inter coaches who won everything. I'm pleased for him, but he's the same Mancini with the same desire to win and the same enthusiasm. He's just more serious (smiles), and a bit older, but he's the same Mancini."
What problems could Inter encounter from now until the end of the season?
"If we continue to play like we're doing, there won't be any problems. Our only problem could be ourselves if we stop running, playing and fighting for every ball. But with all the possible respect for our opponents, I don't see any other problems."

Stankovic, is together with 100 other players, linked to Real Madrid.
Don't think he will leave Inter since he is regular, playing for the best team in Italy and looks happy at the club.
Madrid are also using their time to sign/follow South-American players.

Don't forget he's good friends with Mancini as well, as long as the manager stays at the club Stankovic will stay as well.
