Yeah, but I think he's right. Chelsea will be reluctant to sell, although the signing of Deco will most likely make things easier.

With the arrival of Deco it doesn't look good for the chances of Lampard staying.

However he still needs to have a talk with Scolari and find out where he stands in the first team.

Surely Jose is just speaking the simple truth...cos next season he won't be under contract and so can go where he wants to. If Chelsea was clever and they aren't keen on giving him the contract he wants they might as well sell so as to get some money instead of letting him leave on a free.

Tho I would never let him leave.

If he is cheap Chelsea will let him go now...because Inter would be more interested after apparently buying the expensive Quaresma.

Shit, if he doesn't come now, I'll be really pissed. Talk about getting my hopes high. And to even say that he will come next season is kind of stupid. Who knows what can happen in a year???

Stuff like this really pisses me off.

Inter have become frugal, they have been dictating terms of deals. In a way its good I guess.

Well either way you'll be getting some big name players this summer, even if it isn't any of those three.

Chelsea are also in negotiations with Inter over Frank Lampard's possible £8m transfer to San Siro.

“I get the feeling Massimo Moratti's club has captured Lampard, everything points in that direction,” continued Pasqualin.

“I think that at the end of the day the deal will be done. Lampard is one of the targets that Jose Mourinho 'demanded'.”

I'm hearing so many things, I don't know what to believe.

This is what I do know.

Mancini is a done deal. He'll be announced this week some time.

Queresma is almost done. The creative player we need.

Lampard is just one of the deals that really could push us over the top. He just exudes class, and I'm sure he can play in our midfield.

Mancini, Quaresma and Lampard - if all 3 of those deals get done, how are Inter going to set up?

Because with Lampard and two wingforwards, you'd think it'd be 1 striker. Can Ibra play upfront alone? I've always seen him as more of a "moments" player, who benefits from having a working forward alongside him.

I think Vieira will be dropped and Inter will play with a Lampard Cambiasso midfield and Mancini on the right with Quaresma on the left.Ibra and a new striker or Cruz/Adriano/Suazo in attack.

Lampard has always looked more effective in a midfield 3, or at least with freedom to breach the opposition box. Cambiasso, who's used to playing with DMs next to him, rather than forward-thinking players, would have to hold that midfield constantly, the way a Makelele or Hargreaves has been doing for Lampard the past few years.

Inter Milan have opened negotiations to sign Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard, BBC Sport understands.

The Serie A club are believed to have sent a fax to Chelsea to begin the process of reuniting the 30-year-old with former Blues coach Jose Mourinho.

Earlier this month, Mourinho, who became Inter boss in June, said he did not expect to sign Lampard this summer.

The ex-West Ham star is into the final year of his Chelsea contract and is yet to commit his future to the club.

Reports on Monday suggested that the opening offer from Inter was £6.5m for Lampard, who is set to leave for free next summer.

The recent arrival at Stamford Bridge of Portugal central midfielder Deco, who was also courted by Mourinho and who has joined the Blues on a two-year deal from Barcelona, may hasten Lampard's exit.

There are also reports circulating that Chelsea striker Didier Drogba could be set for a reunion with Mourinho.

The Portuguese boss indicated in June that he would like to work with the Ivory Coast international again.

"I cannot forget Deco, Lampard and Drogba. These are players who I could never say no to," stated Mourinho.

"I would love to work with them again in the future but I am not too obsessed with this idea."

He added: "I don't know which of these three will leave their clubs but we will see."

If Mourinho bids for Drogba then he may face a fight for his signature from local rivals AC Milan, whose technical director Leonardo told BBC Sport that they are also keen on the forward.
