Lightbulb Esteban "Cucho" Cambiasso thread.....

Injuries are starting to hit Inter at the moment....not good news!
Quote:
Cambiasso out for a month
Friday 23 February, 2007
After losing Patrick Vieira for a month, Inter will also have to do without Esteban Cambiasso for four weeks with a thigh injury.
The Argentine limped off after scoring a goal in Wednesday’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Valencia at San Siro.

This evening the official club website confirmed that the initial fears over his condition had been founded.

Cambiasso has suffered a right thigh strain and is expected to be out of action for around a month.

It is the latest in a long line of injuries this season for the former Real Madrid midfielder, who has made just 12 Serie A appearances this season and two in the Champions League.

The timing of the problems for both Vieira and Cambiasso leaves Inter without their first choice central midfield partnership.

It looks as if both players will miss out on the second leg of the Valencia tie on March 6 and the Milan derby on March 11.

Definitely a problem, they will have to move Stankovic back into the middle.

Yep, this is very bad news for Inter.

More so for the CL than the league.

We could see something crazy, like moving Burdisso into the midfield. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.'

Grosso or Maxwell might be there also.

I dont see how Inter can get pass Valencia without him and Vieira,
two of their fundamental players in the starting 11 who have been consistent and produce good work up to now.

Dealing with adversity is part of the game, it will be tough test, but this has already happened this year.

Inter don't have to worry about Serie A, they need to focus on CL. Hopefully the injuries stop and it doesn't affect them in CL.

The damage is done in the CL.

I'm hoping with Joel's lineup is very likely, that Figo has one last great game in him.

There was talk that Cucho would play in the derby, so the injury has recovered nicely.

Very good news.

Cambiasso sees Empoli effect Thursday 6 September, 2007

Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso claims that last weekend’s victory over Empoli was psychologically crucial ahead of the international break.

The reigning champions stalled in their season opener as they were held 1-1 by Udinese, but they bounced back by seeing off the plucky Tuscans 2-0 at the Stadio Castellani in Week 2.

“Like last year it has been a difficult start,” Cambiasso admitted.

“But the win over Empoli was so important and will allow us to train in a relaxed atmosphere during the international break.

“If we were to succeed and continue where we left off last season as well as adding the Champions League, it would be an extraordinary year.”

Speculation over the future of unpredictable star Adriano has taken more column inches than the Nerazzurri’s performances on the pitch in recent weeks, but Cambiasso’s response to questions about L’Imperatore was emphatic.

“I don’t want to add to the drama surrounding Adriano,” the Argentine international insisted.

“I’m happy with the way he has been training and he will return to being the great champion that he is.”
