Reports in Spain suggest that Inter could challenge Real Madrid in the battle to sign Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese ace has developed from a precocious talent to arguably the world’s greatest player at Manchester United, but he has openly flirted with Real Madrid this summer.

After weeks of denying any prospect of his sale, sources suggest that the Old Trafford outfit are facing up to the idea of losing Ronaldo.

While Real are in pole position, El Mundo Deportivo believes that Inter could be ready to enter the bidding thanks to the arrival of Jose Mourinho, who shares agent Jorge Mendes with Ronaldo.

The Nerazzurri would be outsiders to clinch the deal, but Ronaldo would surely relish the chance to work with Mourinho.

Inter are expected to make three major signings this summer as they look to translate Italian supremacy into European domination next term.

Interesting, I expect United would rather sell to Inter than Real Madrid if they were going to sell.

But I also expect Ronaldo's list of preferences is: 1. Real Madrid, 2. Manchester United, 3. Inter/Barcelona.

I don't think Ronaldo would push for a move to Inter, and if he doesn't push for a move it's pretty unlikely that it would happen.

But judging by the article the only real evidence for this rumour is that they have the same agent... not too concrete.
