Default Mancio tirade earns touchline ban

Quote:
Inter Coach Roberto Mancini has received a one-match touchline ban for insulting the referee after their 2-1 defeat to Juventus on Sunday.

The tactician was furious that Alessandro Del Piero scored in the last five minutes with a free kick he claimed Pavel Nedved “dived” to earn.

“Mancini accosted referee Gianluca Paparesta after the final whistle and repeatedly shouted at him,” read the report from the Disciplinary Commission.

“He also loudly stated a vulgar insult about one of the opposition directors, who was also in the players’ tunnel at the time. As Mancini is not new to these incidents, he will also be fined £1,370.”

Juventus Vice-President Roberto Bettega has also been handed a £670 fine for his part in the fiery finale to this game.

It has not been made entirely clear what happened in the players’ tunnel on the way back to the locker rooms, as Dejan Stankovic closed the doors for a couple of minutes, leaving television cameras and the linesman outside.

Meanwhile, Inter star Luis Figo has been put under investigation for his allegations that Juve director general Luciano Moggi was in Paparesta’s office before the game.

“Figo’s accusations are serious, absolutely without foundation and downright false,” read a statement on the official Bianconeri website.

The Disciplinary Commission has suspended 14 players for Serie A Week 26. They are Tedesco (Reggina), Dainelli (Fiorentina), Zauri (Lazio), Codrea (Palermo), Biava (Palermo), Cambiasso (Inter), Samuel (Inter), Di Napoli, Storari (Messina), Sculli (Messina), Biondini (Reggina), Langella (Cagliari), Tudor (Siena) and Legrottaglie (Siena).

I think the figo accusations are completely false. I understand he would get angry, but its hard to see a story like that coming from figo. This entire Inter v Juve soap opera is embarassing professional football, and serie a

the fact is doesn't surprise u doesn't take away from the fact its embarassing. crying for international sake is not as bad seeing as it only occurs every so often, but with serie a its week in and week out. the stuff serie a fans choose to complain about is genrally ignored by premiership supporters, as the same things happen in their league but dont cause nearly as big a stir. imagine if roman bought an italian team instead of chelsea, we would c teams threatening a boycott and/or reshaping the rules of serie a ie: luxury tax, superleague, etc

I wish Roman would of bought Roma, and did what he was doing with Chelsea. He was looking at the team you know?

Anyways, as always. This will all die down, and that will be the end of it.

Nobody is bringing anybody into court, at the time things were said, it can be attributed to the heat of the moment.

Chelsea's dominance over other clubs in that league, are not because of just Roman.

United, Arsenal and Liverpool have piss poor teams at the moment. I'm sure if Chelsea was in Italy, they would have a tough battle on their hands. Likewise, if you substituted them with Inter or Milan or Juve, you would see the same thing.

If a billionaire wants to pump money into his club, I have no problem. I just think its foolish to have billion dollar clubs play with small timers. That's all.

player wise, they have some of the best talent in europe. ie: rooney, henry, gerrard. their problem, along with a few italian clubs, ie: milan, inter, roma, palermo, are that they arent consistent this season. also, when chelsea play smaller teams, theydont threaten to boycott games, that was 1 of my points, they aren't as bitchy about it.
