Inter given Cesar ultimatum!!
http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/jan20b.html
Quote:
Inter have been given 24 hours to complete the signing of Lazio midfielder Aparecido Cesar, according to his agent.
The Nerazzurri have been interested in recruiting the experienced Brazilian for some time, but have shown a reluctance to pay a fee for the 31-year-old who will be available on a free transfer in the summer.
Lazio, meanwhile, are refusing to let their player leave now for nothing, which has led to protracted negotiations and an agent who has had enough of the uncertainty.
"The Cesar situation is simple," declared Gilmar Rinaldi, who represents the player. "Either an agreement is reached in the next 24 hours or he will stay at Lazio until the end of his contract.
"Since I arrived in Italy all I have done is shuttle between Milan and Rome," continued Rinaldi.
"For the time being, the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement but I suppose football goes like that sometimes."
The likeliest outcome would appear to see Cesar remain in Rome until his contract runs out, given that Inter are in no hurry to sign a player who is currently injured.
"Cesar and I are calm," added Rinaldi. "July is not that far away."
Inter boss Roberto Mancini also suggested that a January switch was not on the horizon for his former Biancocelesti pupil.
"At this moment in time he doesn’t interest us," stated the tactician. "We are looking at other players."

I would like to see cesar at inter, but inter would be smart to go for him in june, for free. Solari , kily, and favalli will probably be on the way out, so he would come to the squad and play quite a bit.

Cesar is ours...
..until the end of the season. I imagine Maxwell will duel it out. Wome out?
I don't think Favalli is going any where though.
Quote:
Rodriguez Aparecido Cesar is finally an Inter player after he officially completed his move from Lazio this evening.
The Brazilian, whose contract in the capital expires in June, arrives on loan until the summer when he is then expected to pen a permanent deal.
As part of the agreement, Lazio have taken a half-share in youth team players Alberto Quadri and Siqueira de Oliveira.
Lazio have moved quickly to replace the left-sided midfielder by swooping for promising youngster Massimo Bonanni.
The Roman has joined the Biancocelesti on loan for the rest of the season from Sicilian giants Palermo.

Left wingers at Mancini's disposal: Stankovic, Solari, Cesar, Kily, Figo, Wome and Maxwell next June. So why sign Cesar, a 34-year-old disruptive influence on the decline?

He's technically on loan until the end of the season.
Kily, Wome, ZeMarie and Solari will be gone. Maxwell is loaned out, and more likely to play next year.
With addition of Cesar, the club can now move Stankovic to the middle and replace Veron.
So we could see a lineup like this..
Cesar
J.Zanetti Cordoba Samuel Maxwell/Favalli
Figo Stankovic Cambiasso Cesar
Adriano Martins

Good pickup for Inter cost them nothing, and in the short term they address a hole that Veron could possibly leave.
Stankovic is much better in the middle of the field, but can play any where, as he has shown.
Cesar will fit right in I feel with this club. He's a very good utility player, in that he can play defense, midfield and forward.
However if Maxwell pans out, Inter have gone from crappiest defense to one that is highly mobile and extremely quick.

I doubt that cesar will ever become part of the midfield permanently.
He is more of a first option or a go to guy.
If and when veron leaves, he will be replaced by another guy, maybe ballack or riquelme or whomever

...or Stankovic. He can play in the middle with Cambiasso Lou. That's his true position, and we can afford to move him now, at least for next year.

I know stankovic can play in the middle, but if veron leaves inter will make up for it. My reason is that stankovic can play right left or center as he has proven, some players cannot adjust to a new position like he can.
