Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is prepared to loan Lazio striker Alvaro Recoba.

Lazio trainer Roberto Mancini had a pre-season approach for Recoba rejected by Moratti.

However, with the Uruguayan out of the first team picture at Inter, Moratti has reportedly promised Mancini that he can have Recoba if the striker remains on the outside of coach Hector Cuper's plans.

Recoba would prefer to remain in Milan, but knows that his best chance of first team action is a loan move away in January.

But seriously, Parma and Inter have an exclusive arrangement, and I believe its INTER's to break.....I got this from what I've read.

Yeh i have heard similar things, unless are prepared to sign him and sell him he wont go anywhere between inter and parma.

10/23/2003. Former Inter coach Hector Cuper turned down the chance to sign Manuel Rui Costa from Milan, according to reports in Italy.

The Nerazzurri could have purchased the Portuguese playmaker as a counterpart for Clarence Seedorf. But Cuper didn't want the swap, Milan proposed Francesco Coco instead, and the deal went ahead.

The report comes from one of Italy's most well-respected newspapers, The Corriere della Sera.

It is expected that new coach Alberto Zaccheroni will make it one of his top priorities to sign a creative midfielder.

Christian Vieri has skipped training for two days as reports that he is to accept a switch to Barcelona intensify.

The Inter hitman has been out of sorts since the summer and had been tipped for a move to Chelsea.

However, recent comments that he would like to try another Spanish experience after his successful stint at Atletico Madrid sparked interest from Barca.

Blaugrana President Joan Laporta has reportedly contacted Inter to discuss terms for a £27m bid.

Vieri would also be offered a three-year contract worth approximately £4.8m per season, the same figure he currently earns at the San Siro.

The press coverage around the unhappy striker has been particularly intense over the last few weeks and the fact Vieri has not attended training for several days only served to increase speculation.

However, the club maintains that a bout of the flu and consequent fever is the only reason behind his absence.

The Italian international is also in real doubt to feature against Reggina this Saturday, so Obafemi Martins and Julio Cruz should step in.

Coach Alberto Zaccheroni has an injury crisis on his hands this weekend, as Marco Materazzi, Francesco Coco and Thomas Helveg are also not 100 per cent fit.

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti slammed press speculation that much-travelled forward Christian Vieri will be placed on the transfer list in the New Year.
The latest stories to emanate about the Italian forward's future come after an ironic gesture the ex-Atletico Madrid star made to an Inter fan who whistled at him during the win over Reggina.

The former Juventus man applauded the fan, but Moratti said the rumours were nothing more than the mischievous agenda of people in the press, to unsettle the star.

"It's useless me commenting on this news," said Moratti. "It's clear that writing certain things is on some people's agenda, and so they will continue doing it."

The Giuseppe Meazza supremo added that in fact, Vieri's gesture will ultimately endear him to the Inter fans.

He said: "As I've already said, there is a need to have these kind of situations to allow a growing affection and I think this is what happened in the match against Reggina.

"Supporters wanted to clap him, Vieri wanted to be clapped, and at the end he deserved it."
