Default Vieri set for Inter exit

Christian Vieri admits that his Inter career could be on the verge of ending after yesterday’s extraordinary events.

Juventus are keen but Milan, Chelsea, Barcelona, Roma and Real Madrid may also be interested.

Default Boro eyeing Inter duo

Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in Internazionale duo Emre and Carlos Gamarra to strengthen their squad for European football next term.
Sources in Italy suggest Boro boss Steve McClaren is keeping an eye on the pair with a view to a summer swoop.

Emre, a gifted Turkish international, is reportedly keeping his options open after failing to land a regular place under Alberto Zaccheroni.

The former Galatasaray midfielder, who was close to joining Arsenal after the 2002 World Cup, has only started half of Inter's Serie A matches this term.

Paraguayan defender Gamarra, like Emre, has seen limited action this campaign, starting a similar amount of matches in comparison to his Turkish counterpart.

The experienced South American stopper desired a move to Sporting Lisbon last summer, however that move never materialised and he remained in Milan.

Gamarra's contract expires this summer, but despite low playing time club president Massimo Moratti is happy with his displays and is keen to agree an extension.

With Boro yet to agree a deal to retain on-loan Boudewijn Zenden from Chelsea, McClaren is reviewing his left-sided options while at the back Ugo Ehiogu, Gareth Southgate and Colin Cooper are all at the back end of their careers.

The North East side are currently just four points off Aston Villa in the Premiership table and with European football on the horizon next term, McClaren is keen to bolster his squad.

Like they get Emre.
::hahaha::

No way are they getting Emre though I wouldnt really care if they got Gamarra as they are people in front of him and his chances will be limited to a few appearances off the bench.

Emre isn't going any where, he's missed a few games because of injury, and he needs to get the "rust" out of the system.

They've been trying to move Gamarra for a long time now.

Default Kompany set for Inter

Manchester United and Chelsea target Vincent Kompany is set to reject the Premiership pair for Inter. Anderlecht chief Robert De Pot is on good terms with the Italian outfit and the defender is set for the San Siro.

Don't know anything about him?

The guy has been great, simply great.

He just turned 18 this month and is already a regular in the national squad. He's a very good defender, he should only improve his heading skills.

He has the potential to become the best but if he leaves too soon, it could ruin his career. I think he's smart enough to stay, he stated he first wants to finish his school (wich is one more year) before even considering about moving abroud.

Well, we could sign him, and keep him where he is, or he could join our reserve team.

I will say this, having good relations with smallers teams, is always a good move, hopefully this will pay off.

Right now, I want Matteo Ferrari please.

Default United join Vieri chase

Christian Vieri is refusing to comment on his bitter split with Alberto Zaccheroni, but reports suggest he’s in contact with Old Trafford.

“We are ready for a great performance against Parma,” announced the unsettled hitman on ‘Inter Channel’ this afternoon.

“We know it won’t be an easy task, as the Gialloblu are having a wonderful season despite their financial problems. The team must be complimented for this achievement.”

Vieri is by no means certain to start Sunday’s match, as he reacted angrily to being left on the bench in last week’s 2-1 defeat at Lecce.

The striker refused to get off the team bus until 30 minutes before kick-off, then threw a microphone across the room when journalists tried to interview him afterwards.

“Parma are working well,” he continued, “but we also had good training sessions this week and really had fun. I repeat, we are ready for Parma.”

Adriano and Obafemi Martins are struggling with fitness worries, while Alvaro Recoba could be ready for his comeback after suffering a thigh strain.

However, Vieri’s continuing personality clashes with Zaccheroni suggest he will leave the San Siro this summer.

Up until now the press has linked him with Juventus, Roma and Barcelona, but on Friday evening a new theory emerged.

According to reports in Italy, Manchester United have pinpointed the Azzurri hero as the perfect replacement for Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Vieri already has overseas experience as he was top scorer in his one Spanish season with Atletico Madrid, while he would have no problems settling in to the Premiership as he speaks fluent English from his childhood years in Australia.

The Peninsula press suggests that Manchester United would be willing to pay nearly £14m for the striker who will turn 31 in July.
