It looks like Svend Goran Erickson was offered the job before Zac, but turned it down, because of his commitments. He would be my choice, at this moment, if we had to axe Zac.

AC Milan and Inter are being linked with Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele.

Both Milan clubs have been alerted to news that Makelele is unsettled at Stamford Bridge, where he has struggled to live up to his reputation since arriving in the summer from Real Madrid.

London press reports suggest Chelsea management are considering offloading Makelele at the end of the season and that has alerted both Inter and AC Milan.

Both Serie A giants are in the market for a holding midfielder and its been suggested are eyeing Makelele as an alternative to Edgar Davids, who is committed to signing a deal with Barcelona

Nerazzurri close in on Vidic

Crvena Zvezda's highly-rated Serbia and Montenegro defender Nemanja Vidic is reportedly close to sealing a move to Serie A giants Internazionale.
The 22-year-old has been tracked by a host of Europe's biggest clubs over the past few seasons but it now appears he could be heading to the Nerazzurri.

Vidic has attracted admiring glances from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in the past, with the player declaring just last year that he would favour a move to England.

Earlier this season Vidic had been expected to sign for financially troubled Parma but after continued negotiations, a deal failed to materialise.

Crvena Zvezda coach Slavoljub Muslin has always remained adamant that the player would not be allowed to leave the club until the end of the season and after meetings with Internazionale officials on Wednesday, it does now appear that the sought-after defender could be heading to Serie A.

IMO Makelele was a better player in Madrid and he isn't the best defensive footballer in the world this season. But he is one of the best.

Andrea Pirlo, Emerson, Patrick Vieira, Edgar Davids og Gennaro Gattuso are better in that postion.

I dont want players like Makelele in Real Madrid. Not his personality because wenn Roman bought Chelsea, Makelele started to fight for a better contract and he wanted more money. Its OK that he want more money, but first he say that Chelsea are a bigger and better club than Real Madrid, and 3 weeks after he had join Chelsea: "Real Madrid are a greater club than Chelsea and they playing better football than us"

Madrid had get him a new contact offer to him, but when he started to criticise and ask for more money in the spanish newspaper, thats was to mutch.

Jorge Valdano dident want this kind of players who order more money in the newspapers. Thats why join Chelsea for almost 15 000 000£ Thats almost the Beckhams transfersmoney.

I don't know much about him but I think Inter needs to invest in big names, one player per season is enough instead of buying many of these players with high potential who usualy don't make it at Inter.

Milan doesn't need him and this rumour is most defenetly false, Pirlo and Gattuso are doing an exellent job and we always have Ambrosini to rely on when one of these isn't available.

If we're set to buy another defensive midfielder then it will probably be Davids whose contract with Juve expires this season and who's been linked to us a lot.

yes i think not only milan but also inter doesnt need him...we have cristiano emre and stankoviç...we have to get ballack type player...i said before ballack type both defend and attack...
