Internazionale have agreed a deal with Olivier Dacourt, according to reports in Italy.

The French international, out of contract at Roma this summer, was linked with moves back to England and France.


The likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Bolton were all said to be keen, while French champions Lyon were another said to be monitoring him closely.


However, Inter are now understood to have made a late move and sealed his signature on a pre-contract.


Neither Dacourt or Inter have yet commented on the speculation.

Dacourt would be nice. Yeah, he's a bit dirty but Inter need to strengthen the midfield. This move makes sense to me.

Dirty, was for lack of a better word. I don't imagine he will contribute to much but he is a veteran, and has been playing in Italy for a while.

Olivier Dacourt is unlikely to join either Inter or Juventus, the Roma player’s agent has suggested.

The Frenchman has been associated with both Italian giants as his contract in the capital expires in June.

However, Giorgio De Giorgis told the Guerin Sportivo magazine that the former Leeds man wants to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.

“We are waiting for a contract renewal offer,” De Giorgis stated. “We’ll be patient for a few more weeks and then start examining other bids.

“Inter and Juventus? For now stories of contact from those clubs are pure fantasy,” concluded the representative.

The Turin giants had been linked as they are always on the look out for quality individuals who are available on free transfers.

Ironically, Inter have been paired with Dacourt seeing as they will lose midfielder Cristiano Zanetti at the end of the season to Juventus on a Bosman.

Internazionale are in a strong position to sign Francesco Tavano, the Empoli hitman’s agent has confirmed.

The striking sensation, fresh from keeping the Tuscan outfit in the top flight, is set to leave the Castellani and the Nerazzurri have been strongly linked.

Now Massimo Lattuca, the player’s representative, has suggested he wouldn’t be surprised if the move occurred.

“Inter are a concrete possibility, but I wouldn’t say that he’s been promised to the Nerazzurri,” he stated.

Inter are set to boost their striking options and Tavano will be made available for a reasonable price in today’s market.

“His valuation is around £7m,” continued Lattuca. “I would expect Empoli to net around that figure for the player.”

The agent also added that Tavano, who was called up by Italy boss Marcello Lippi for this week’s Azzurri training camp, is ready to step up in level.

“I don’t think it is too soon in his career to join a big club,” he added with whispers suggesting that Real Madrid are also keen.

“Tavano is 27-years-old and is no longer that young,” he continued. “He’s an element of value, a second striker who scores as many goals as a target man.”

You can't argue with what he's done for Empoli this season but he'd still be a gamble in my opinion.

Big gamble.

Only option here would be to buy him, and loan him out. We need a proven option in Serie A.

Inter has a lot of experiments going on in Serie A at the moment, not sure we need another one.

I guess Lucarelli is the better option as he's been scoring goals in Serie A for two seasons now although Tavano would be an interesting one.
