A failure, no other word to describe it. Granted, he wasn't really given a chance. Good luck to him.

Very simple, he didn't fit into Cuper's plans, and he doesn't fit into Zac's plans. Not too mention he hasn't played up too expectations.

I guess the morale of the story is, you bring in allot of players, hopefully some of them will crack your lineup.

Van der meyde and Cruz were brought in, and have played great. Though Van der meyde hasn't started much of late.

I can give you a huge list of players they brought in and have failed....

Just read this off the Italian daily...

Luciano has spoken of his delight at having returned to Chievo after his unsuccessful spell at Inter.

The Brazilian is back in Verona just six months after he left the club to join the Nerazzurri on loan.

"I’m very happy," said the winger. "I’m back at home surrounded by all of my closest friends. I have people that really love me here."

The 28-year-old hit the headlines a few years ago after his exceptional form for Chievo when he was then playing under the name of Eriberto.

He was later suspended for a short time after admitting that he was using a false identity but still earned a move to Inter last year.

However, things didn’t go well at the San Siro. Especially after Hector Cuper was replaced by Alberto Zaccheroni.

"I obviously hoped to do well there but I decided it was best to leave as Zac was focusing on other players," he added.

"Chievo are not just a team for me - they are a family," he added. "Then I’m glad to be working with Gigi Del Neri again.

"He is a Coach that has always made me feel important and I have a great need to be believed in."

Default Parma demand Cruz for Adriano

Parma director general Luca Baraldi has confirmed that Adriano will not be released to Inter without receiving Julio Cruz in return.

“This is a club with dignity and objectives for this season,” announced Baraldi, “and we must respect that. So if we agree this deal then there must be a player included as well as an economic aspect.”

There were reports in the newspapers that Inter had rejected a request for Cruz (pictured) on loan until the end of the season, but the Gialloblu transfer chief has now confirmed those claims.

“We are trying to keep Adriano until the summer,” he added, “but it won’t be easy as Inter are pushing us to hand him over immediately.”

The Brazilian returned to full fitness after three months out with a torn thigh muscle and scored on his comeback in last night’s 1-1 draw at Udine.

“There are more meetings planned for next week,” concluded Baraldi, “and at the moment I’d say the transfer is in the balance.”

The fact that Inter want Adriano now – as confirmed by both Baraldi and Nerazzurri President Massimo Moratti – suggests that the end is nigh for Christian Vieri’s time at the San Siro.

The striker was left in the stands for today’s 1-0 home defeat to Empoli, officially for a muscular injury.

Few pundits believe this version of events and it is rumoured that Vieri was set to start on the bench, but refused and preferred to miss out entirely.

The atmosphere around the San Siro was tense and the players were locked in their changing rooms for over an hour as fans led a protest outside.

“We need your help to get through this difficult moment and understand the problems,” commented captain Javier Zanetti.

The Argentine and defender Marco Materazzi went outside to speak with fan representatives and calm the tension.

Many die-hard supporters walked out of the Stadium early and missed Empoli’s winning goal scored by Tommaso Rocchi.

This is chaos! Is Adriano the light at the end of the tunnel?

Cruz must stay, I'm positive this is a baraining ploy by Parma. Stating that further talks will be held, suggest as much.

Not sure if you seen Adriano play, but he is INCREDIBLE...

Stam Would Join Inter 19/01/04
Lazio defender Jaap Stam has admitted that he could be tempted to play for Inter in the short term.

Rumours have long swirled that the Dutchman would be one of Lazio’s ledger helping sales.

"I personally prefer Inter because they are looking to offer me a relatively short deal," explained Stam.

"The others are ready to give me long contracts, but that doesn't match my needs as I want to end my career in Holland with Heerenveen."

What type of short deal? If he can't help us next year, then he's useless.

Default Udinese rubbish Pizarro claims

Sorry to say Mr. Jager sir but:

FROM CHANNEL - FOOTBALL ITALIA:
Udinese have rejected media reports that David Pizarro is set to join Inter in the next few days.

Stories yesterday suggested that a move for the midfielder was imminent but the Bianconeri have rubbished those claims.

"Everyone knows that Inter like Pizarro but we have never sat down with them to discuss a transfer," said sporting director Pierpaolo Marino.

"I wasn?t in Milan on Monday and I didn?t meet with (Inter director) Lele Oriali either.

"They asked us a few questions about Pizarro on the eve of our Coppa Italia game a few weeks ago but no serious negotiations resulted."

It was believed that Inter would meet with Udinese in the next few days to complete the move. Yet Marino is unaware of any scheduled talks.

"We haven?t set up an appointment to meet up with Inter," he added. "Obviously anything can happen before the transfer window closes this week but nothing is moving right now."

Inter had apparently turned their attention to Pizarro after deciding to sign Lazio?s Dejan Stankovic at the end of the season rather than immediately.

"I don?t know whether Stankovic will be joining Inter but he could easily play alongside Pizarro," added Marino.

This is a setback, and PART of the negotiating process. Obviously both sides have hit a stumbling block, and Udinese release this.....very standard in Serie A.

Reminds a few months before Adriano was signed, the press was doing the same thing.

Default Inter stage double Lazio swoop

The Nerazzurri are planning a double swoop for Lazio stars Jaap Stam and Cesar next season.

Dejan Stankovic has already made the trip up to the San Siro with a £3m January switch and could soon be joined by some familiar faces.

Inter directors have confirmed several times that they have a firm interest in Dutch defender Stam – who was on target in the Biancocelesti’s 3-0 win over Empoli yesterday evening.

Juventus and Milan are also said to be tracking the former Manchester United man, but Inter remain the firm favourites to capture his signature.

Newspaper reports in the Peninsula suggest that Juve have tabled the highest bid so far with £7.6m, but the player is unhappy with the move.

It is claimed that if patron Massimo Moratti is able to raise as much as £7m then Stam and Lazio will agree a deal.

We could use him now, our bench is really weak, except at the striker position.

Boy with the new head honcho in place you guys seem to be going on a spending spree, but it is justifiable because you really lack in the defencive area, (perhaps (correction) deffenitly not as bad as Juve though  ) and these pickups will do you good on the bench.

Default Inter prepare midfield bids

Inter are planning to revolutionise their midfield over the summer in a bid to become title contenders once again.

The Nerazzurri have had a desperately disappointing season which was basically over by Christmas after their Champions’ League elimination and their patchy Scudetto form.

Now the club are already planning for the future by formulating a list of summer transfer targets.

The first is Lazio star Cesar who is proving to be one of the best left-sided midfielders in Italian football right now.

The Nerazzurri are ready to offer the capital club around £3m plus either Kily Gonzalez or Giovanni Pasquale.

Inter have been lacking a creative central midfielder for some time and they are now trying to remedy that problem.

Their primary objective is Roma midfielder Emerson (pictured) who could be sold in the summer if he can’t agree on an extension at the Stadio Olimpico.

An alternative to the Brazilian, who is also wanted by Milan and Chelsea, is Udinese star David Pizarro.

The Chilean is again starting to play at the highest levels which is why Juventus are also being linked with him.

Yet it isn’t just the midfield that is set for a few changes. A new central defender is also required.

Lazio’s Jaap Stam is wanted but they could swoop for Auxerre youngster Philippe Mexes if Stam joins Milan instead.

Possible defensive departures include Fabio Cannavaro and Ivan Cordoba. The Italian is liked by Chelsea and Man Utd. While Cordoba is being associated with Real Madrid.
