Jose Ze Maria signed a two year contract with Inter, after ending his spell with Perugia.
"They wanted me and I wanted Inter," the 31-year-old told the club’s official website. "After some lengthy talks, the two clubs finally reached an understanding.

"I was hoping to arrive at such a great club and at the age of 31, this is a now or never opportunity. I need to show people that I deserve this chance."
Will he play as a right-back or as a right-sided midfielder? "I’ll play where the Coach tells me to," he replied.

"I’m not here to steal anyone’s place. I’ve joined this club to give an important contribution. I have great respect and no fear."

President Giacinto Facchetti was very enthusiastic about the signing.

"A high quality player has been added to our squad, one with technique and experience," added President Giacinto Facchetti. "He’s played in Italy but also at international level with Brazil.

"In the meeting with him this morning I was left impressed by his professionalism and enthusiasm."

its not about the age, its whether u can still perform or not and he can but their r better players. i assume he's a player/assistant manager

Your guess is good as mine, they have added more players since I've written this. Midfield is a big guess at this moment, but its fun to speculate. Remember J.Zanetti could move up also, depending on what type of lineup we put out, a more defensive one, or an offensive one.

I do like Matrix, so shoot me!

Burdisso has looked great in preseason, so who knows?

Pros and cons to both. Remember, they've let players leave also. So it should balance out. Ze Maria can help this sqaud, as we have no one who can do what he does.

MILAN - F.C. Internazionale communicates that Javier Francisco Farinos has moved on loan to Real Club Deportivo Mallorca. Executives of the two clubs concluded the deal yesterday, while the documents relative to the loan transfer were registered at the Lega Calcio offices this morning.

Real Madrid are understood to have opened negotiations with Internazionale for central defender Fabio Cannavaro.

Real have made no secret of the fact they are looking for further defensive reinforcements after missing out on the signature of Patrick Vieira.

They have already brought in Walter Samuel during the close season, and will now look to add another experienced Serie A star to partner him in central defence.

Cannavaro would bring Jose Antonio Camacho's first-team squad to 23, and would see Ivan Helguera moved to partner David Beckham in central midfield.

Cannavaro fits the profile of Real's preferred signing, and a price-tag of around €6 million has convinced Los Merengues to pursue a deal.

The player, who turns 31 next month, is believed to be very keen on a move to El Santiago Bernabeu, despite rival interest in him from Manchester United.

Talks between Real supremo Florentino Perez and his Inter counterparts have already commenced, and Spanish daily AS claims a deal could be struck by the end of the week.

Possibly not, but the rumour is there, and according to spanish media a deal is close, although the same ones said Vieira would sign for them, then he didnt
