MLS champions visit White House

WASHINGTON (TICKER) —The two-time MLS champion Houston Dynamo on Thursday visited the White House, where they were congratulated by President George Bush.

The trip came after Wednesday’s scheduled game with D.C. United was postponed in the 16th minute due to heavy rain and soggy field conditions.

During Thursday’s visit, the Dynamo toured the White House, then met with Bush and posed for a team picture in the Rose Garden.

“It was quite an experience,” Houston defender Patrick Ianni said. “It’s always an honor to be able to go and check out the rich history here. It’s a great experience I’ll remember for a lifetime.”

The Dynamo defeated the New England Revolution, 2-1, in Washington on November 18 to capture their second straight MLS title.
