Default who belives in omens

in 2002 world cup scolari won turkey in the group stage and then again in the semi and lifted the world cup and it looks like we could face them again in the semi

exactly i told all my friends the same thing.

I have more omens for you

1996- Portugal quarter final
2000 - Portugal semi final
2004 - Portugal runner up
2008 - Portugal champion?

every 10 years, a country wints its first cup in that tournament. whats the chance of this not happening again lol?

58 - brazil world cup
68- italy euro cup
78 - argentina world cup
88- netherlands euro cup
98- france world cup
08- portugal euro cup?!?

2002 - brazil wasnt expected to win the world cup, they were garbage in qualifying and they won. they beat turkey in the opener

same thing for portugal 2008.

also in 2002 the RED WINGS won the NHL stanley cup and they won it again in 2008.

I have thought of many more but i keep forgetting

anyways i always had faith portugal would win this year, this is the reasons why the signs are in the stars I think they are destined no matter if our team is the strongest or not.

another good omen for Portugal.

everyone knows the two biggest upsets in euro cup history were Denmark 1992 and Greece 2004.

denmark beat germany in the final in 1992
but Germany bounced back to win the title in 1996, in the next euro. Denmark was eliminated in the first round

Greece beat portugal in the final in 2004.
maybe portugal will win the title in 2008, greece already eliminated in the first round it sounds familiar in a way.

also, the brazil-portugal connextions also show that, brazil lost its first major final on home soil (1950 world cup to uruguay) before they won any world cups.

I think Portugal are the front runners. Especially if CR continues his fine form. However its still a long tournament, and your going to run into other hot teams.

theres other hot teams, but theres alot of eerie signs that suggest portugal could win the cup. sometimes certain teams have a destiny, just like greece in 2004 football isnt always rational.

I don't believe in Omens, or Superstitions. I pick no favorites because every team can be in for a surprise though I see a pattern happening and Portugal might make it to the finals.

CROATIA.... I really believe the Croatians are for real.

It's all about about tactical strategy in each game. How you approach the game if what counts. Win or lose, it's a 6 game tournament, coaching is an advantage and with Scolari will have to take risks.

Your playing really well, no doubt about that. I pretty superstitious, I have to admit. However I don't see what you see.

I see Portugese football becoming a power now, after laying dormant. So in Europe, they are developing players just like the big three.

Germany, Italy and France.

These three always are considered tough teams, and can beat anybody, even when in bad form.

Portugal is close to joining this list. However, they have not had a championship yet, maybe this is the year.

Draws is also the key. Getting good draws will help you.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a good chance you play Germany next? Well if that is the case, that is not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination. Regardless of form.

thats also what I see, Portugal is trying to become a team like the elite who can win even when not playing their best (Germany Italy and france)

but it takes a championship to gain prestige, thats what Portugal is fighting for.

good draws always help, we will likely face germany in the next game which will be very difficult but if Portugal manages to win they will show they mean buisness this year.

Germans don't scare me.... its about who's in form and your players stepping up.

Greece won by playing stellar defense, they rarely made mistakes. Tactics are also of importance.

I found another good omen for Portugal in euro 2008 which is pretty interesting

as you know, Euro 2008 is being held in Austria And Switzerland

2 portuguese clubs have won the Champions league
(Benfica and Porto both won it twice)

Benfica's first european cup was won in 1961, the final was in Berne Switzerland they beat FC Barcelona 3-2

Porto's first european cup was won in 1987, the final was in Vienna, Austria they beat Bayern Munich 2-1

21 years later, the final of euro 08 is in the same stadium. benfica also reached its last european final (CL final 1990) in that stadium losing to ac milan 1-0

so it makes sense that Portugal's first european cup will come in Austria/Switzerland.
