So apart from play a role in the first goal, score the second goal and get the assist for the 3rd goal he did nothing?
Firstly, if that's "all" he'll do in a game I'd be pretty pleased.
And secondly, going forward, nobody, except Deco, offered more, yes he was greedy, and yes he had some ambitious shots, but almost all of them were on target and forced saves from Cech.
Ronaldo is a footballer, not superman, I'm not sure what more anyone could expect from him...

not really, the shot was straight at him, he just sticked his out arm. it was a save that most professional goalkeepers would make.
and the first goal was also his fault, he was about to come out, then changed his mind and was out of position when sionko took his shot.

See what she does then. You will have basically turned the tables on her. Tried this a few times, always works.

"Well, that was fun... in a fuckin' terrible, sick, not-at-all-fun way."
Ricardo Quaresma: forever a Porto legend. Thank you for all the memories.

Compared to what we've seen from Ronaldo during the whole season at Manchester United, his performance today was 'nothing'. Anyways, that's my opinion.
Oh.. and, I didn't expect anything else either. Before the tourney started, I said: he's is a different player for Portugal.

Are you kidding me? Oh, and that save of Sionko's header was the only time he was tested properly. He made some saves, but he was nothing spectacular.

Doesnt everyone play a bit differently when they are surrounded by the top 10 players from their country though? And playing against the top 11 players from other countries?

Not always the case. ex: Ballack is always the same great player for whoever he plays: Bayern, Chelsea, Germany NT.

That maybe the case but from that range and speed the cross came and he was unmarked it was a great save, it easily could have gotten in and in other times he did parry the ball quite well.

Maybe so, he COULD have gotten out but remember that there were 2 Czech players waiting for the ball, 1 was marked well and the 2nd was Sionko which was supposely marked by Petit. Also we all talked about Deco, Ronaldo etc but we all forgot about Moutinho, to me personally he had a good game too, in the 1st half he kept his position well good passes he was better than Petit IMO.

The first goal was a missed dribble, it happens. At least we kept possession of the ball, unlike when Ronaldo lost the ball countless times in the first half.
the 3rd goal was legal, rozenhal put Ronaldo onside.
|
I agree mate, I said I liked what he was trying to do... but his whole attitude seemed weird and selfish to me. I guess its just me.
and about the goal, I as wondering wether the ball was standing when deco took the free-kick... that it was onside I know.

Bollocks. the shot was easily handled, the ball was straight at him and it wasn't as fast as you say, not even close.

So what, if you're a goalkeeper, you either come out or you stay in goal. If you want to do both at the same time, you're going to concede a goal.
Moutinho had a good game, I agree. Petit was Portugal's worst player on the field, absolutely terrible performance.

Yeah it happened quite a lot this season that Ronaldo wouldn't do much in a game and then would turn it on its head by scoring 1, maybe 2 goals or assisting.
Like against Arsenal in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates, he was completely out of the game but scored the first goal and supplied the cross for the second.
He can drift in and out of a game but he'll make a telling contribution, which he did tonight, so yes he did put on a show.

You cannot compare Ballack to Ronaldo, both midfielder are different, Ballack is an attacking midfielder while Ronaldo is a high class winger, they both have their styles.
