Were they prepared in 2004? We lost to greece the opening game....hence they looked nervous but a team game always wins no matter who you are. We have got to stop playing like premadonnas and as a unit, it's important we bond before the euros....that is vital!
I have high expectations for portugal. If we play poorly, I will be extremely disappointed.

Portugal was ill-prepared in 2004 because Scolari was sticking with old out of form players instead of the new stars... thats why Portugal dropped the ball to Greece in the opener.
look in the world cup, we went 3 and 0 from a relatively easy group, we didnt screw it up... scolari prepared us good. this year he can do the same, but we got to find out the right lineup to play.
The way that turkey and Czech play football, suits Portugal's game... we should be able to win vs both of them.

I chose Portugal and Turkey. If Portugal plays to their potential (and often they play to the level of apponent) then I think they can win it. Turkey could chalange for first place if Portugal falters.

Im a Portugal fan... this group concerns me because Portugal has a histroy of blowing the first match. If they do so they are screwed because Czechs are always strong and Switzerland will be very difficult with the home advatage. I wont be surprised if a repeat of 2002 happens where Portugal underestimates their first opponents. The first match is the key. Turkey better suck because im not sure how well Portugal will gel at first. The team consists of great individuals, but they are very selfish. Ronaldo and quaresma (and Nani) must get by a defender and pass instead of trying to get by 3 or 4.

Portugal and the Czechs, who may not be the team they used to be but are still a very strong squad, in a tight group

Portugal will win the group and Switzerland finishes second. Switzerland will be the surprise of the tournament because it is a home game for them. The swiss crowd will push them up.

Portugal and Czech will finish 1st and 2nd place but it will be very hard in my opinion.
Switzerland will play at home and probably UEFA will make everything to "push" the team to the quarter-finals ( economical reasons ).......
Did you guys remeber South Korea in 2002 World Cup?We all saw that they were "pushed" by FIFA till the semi-final against Germany....(once again economical reasons)...
I don´t want to create any controversia here, it´s only my opinion....
See ya!

Turkey -- Good team, It's a matter of time before a another darkhorse team wins the euros again.

Not cocky -- just hopeful this team can rebound. I wanted a more competitive group, like Italy, Spain or Holland.... that way we do not underestimate any team.
You cant afford to be complacent, Portugal has the team in place to win it all.
