Italy is WC Champions and credit to that, but what a developing from 2006 to Euro 2008. Russia, Holland, Spain, etc...young players and outsiders who played extreamly good football.

France - Italy were IMO a final France were the best team and should've won. But with Zidane as scapegoat and some injures in the match, the Italian horse defended well and won the penaltykicks. And Buffon - Barthez is like Ferrari and Daihatsu.

But how is the average age in the Italian team? Is Italy becoming like AC Milan? Much aged players that should've been replaced with a new and hungry generation?

I think this defender that played against Spain (the tall guy)...Can't remember his name right now, were extreamly good (especially in that match) how old is he?

Penny, please. There is a lot more depth to Italy, then this side. Actually, some of stated that this could very well be the dawn of the golden age of Italian football. I for one believe the comment has some merit.

Check the Gli Azzurri forum to talk about this more.

The only player which is giving Azzuri fans a sigh of relief when Cannavaro and Nesta (assuming he does or ...doesnt come back?).Future is looking bright. We need to start implenting the youth into the senior squad like Spain Holland and Portugal.
