LOL....Zambrotta is in heaven when that women came on the field. Good stuff.

Glad that Perrotta will be ok...he won't have a great role in this Euro as he had in the WC...but his services will be needed.

One thing about Toni...he has passion for whatever jersey he's wearing!!!

Toni reveals Euro dream
Monday 26 May, 2008

Italy striker Luca Toni is dreaming of adding the European Championship crown to the World Cup the Azzurri won two years ago.

The Italian international has scored 42 goals this season for Bayern Munich and is now celebrating his 31st birthday in Coverciano with all his teammates.

“A couple of years ago, if someone had come up to me saying that I would be playing with the national team at the age of 31 I wouldn't have believed it,” he confessed.

“I am really fired up and, in comparison to the World Cup, I feel stronger. There is a good harmony in this group - good will and faith.

“It would be a dream to win the European Championship after the World Cup. We want to realise this dream for our fans and rewrite the history books.

“I will give my 110 per cent, since this could be my last Euros and I want to win it.”

Italy have been drawn against Holland, France and Romania in the group stage, but the former Palermo and Fiorentina player is ready to face this tough challenge.

“It is a very difficult group and there are no weak teams. Holland are one of the best sides and Romania are there because they deserve it.

”I told my friend Franck Ribery that I hope to play the last game against France with no need for points. Franck is crazy, but he is a great player who can make the difference.

“The same goes for Adrian Mutu, my former Fiorentina colleague. We have kept in touch since I left and I hope he will have a great Euro 2008.”

Toni has done incredibly well in the Bundesliga this season and is not planning to return to Italy any time soon since he is enjoying his time at Bayern Munich.

“I will stay here next season too. I told the board that I would like to have an Italian teammate and they tried with Gennaro Gattuso. It's a pity he didn't come, but now Andrea Bazargli is very welcome.

“Sooner or later I will come back to Italy because I want to try and reach 100 goals in Serie A.”

I've missed none of his goals this season. Ribéry & Klose (usually) and others have fed him with balls a lot. Klose assisted to him a lot, all in the zone, where he basically had to put his feet on and score. Ribéry has assisted to him in many ways, a lot of crosses - Luca scored a lot of headers.

Goal compilation of Luca Toni's first half season for Bayern. All 17 goals are included:

As we all kind of expected it's Montolivo that misses out, unlucky.

It was widely speculated that he would be the odd man out based on the other call ups. He had a slight chance with the Perrotta injury, but his time will come with the Azzurri.

really disheartening to see Monty leave. He's better then Ambrosini.we've got enough defensive cover with Gattuso and De Rossi.Even Aquilani can play good physical defensive midfield play. But dropping a creative player like Montolivo takes guts.Lets put faith in Donadoni.

Montolivo and Aquilani are similar players. Dropping Montolivo isn't as harsh as dropping Inzaghi. That took balls!!!

We could have used Montolivo. Like Sinoy said, we already have Gattuso and De Rossi.

He better not start Ambrosini.

Don't expect Aquilani to play much. He will likely be like Barone in the WC06. Barely played at all.
