IMO Poland were lucky to make it this far. Portugal were playing shit football against them causing them to gain some easy points. I'd be astonished if Germany dont crush them.
4-0 Germans.

Germany wasnt on their top game and they crushed Portugal 3-1. Schweinsteiger or however the hell you spell it was one of the only ones on top of their game.
If the whole German team was in form Portugal would have been crushed bad.
Thats just my opinion...

^ Don't beat yourself up. You spelled Schweinsteiger correctly

Yeah. I predict Germany to defeat them. However, i think it will be a 2-0, at least. I beating is always welcomed but that's the least i'm asking from them.

Germany don't have that much of a problem imo. Good luck to them.

If their defence plays the same as the one against Serbia then they will have some problems. But when one pass takes out your whole defence their could be serious problems...I still expect them to win, but they might conceed...

Thats just my opinion...

Pauleta had like 2 clear cut chances to score when the score was level, and 3rd place match againt the home team... anyways I dont think most ppl take 3rd place matches seriously its not as competitive.

what was worse, was Portugal resting their players and beating Germany 3-0 in euro 2000 to send them out of the group stage I donno if you remember that.

It was Metzelders fault, he admitted that he has made the wrong choice by staying in his place, he should have marked the guy closely .

Plus, Lehmann is one of the worst goalkeepers in the tournament and considering his form, he will cost us . If it was Adler or Enke I am convinced that they wouldn't have conceded between their legs .

Lehmann is not one of the worst keeper in the tournament that is just a bad excuse for the mistake your defence made. When your keeper is left one on one it is difficult to save against the striker and frankly a defence shouldn't be split that easily. Just because the striker scored by nutmegging Lehmann you cannot automatically call him a bad keeper.

and on this game I think your attack will be too much for Poland.

1)Thats true when you judge him over 1 match or based on one occasion, Lehmann's Form is not good, he didn't play all season, he is week.

2)Thats true also when you didn't have Oliver Kahn as your No.1 Keeper before Lehmann, When you watch Kahn and other Legendary German goalkeepers, your demands just become Harder and harder towards the replacements .

I wouldn't underestimate Poland. Just remember the WC'06 match, we scored the 1-0 against them in the very last minute. Neuville, what a legend.

Things have changed since then though, for better or worse.

This is a very important match, as the first matches are always. I expect a Germany win by 2 goals up.

Auf gehts Deutschland!!

We Must Start With A Win - Lahm
Germany full-back Philipp Lahm is looking forward to playing a more responsible role as an established international in this summer's European Championship...

Quote:
Lahm, still only 24, is a fully established international with the Mannschaft and now, as Germany gear up for their first game of Euro 2008 against rivals Poland din Klagenfurt on Sunday, he is eager to get off to a flying start. He of course provided that inspiration two years ago when, on home soil, he scored the first goal of the tournament - a screamer against Costa Rica - which propelled them as far as the semi-finals, where they fell to eventual winners Italy.

"The World Cup is now out of our heads, and the EURO is finally about to start. Naturally, it especially important that we start with a victory," declared Lahm.

"Before the World Cup, I had only been a professional for three years. Now I have gathered a lot of important experience in two years in Munich, and my voice has gained some weight in the team.

"Now I am more experienced, I need to take more responsibility. The tension is definitely rising, but that is normal. Every footballer who comes here is looking forward to the games finally starting."

On the prospect of being tournament favourites, the full-back replied: "We are just one of many teams who can win this tournament." And regarding criticisms of the team's defence and Lahm's Bayern Munich team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger, Lahm replied: "I do not see any big problem in the defence and Bastian will find his form.

"He has always been there when we need him. He is a great player and we live off his ideas. He always puts in his best performances at big tournaments and has helped lead us to success."

And He 100% Right .. We Must Open The Tournament With A Good Win . !!
